    Course Dave, sure isn't that why Leinster's CL game is in Lansdowne!! They're expecting at least 30,000 for the Scarlets visit! :p;)

    I'm away the weekend of the semi, not to disappointed as I'll be in Cardiff anyway, but I cant even remotely see how I would possibly get a ticket if I was around. It's going to be chaos.

    Will head to the CL game, people really can't have an excuse as it's something to do on one of the two 'dry' days in the country. Maybe they should issue tokens at these games so the genuine journeyman supporters can get tickets for the likes of the semi-final.

    Aye - its a pity we cant use the RDS next year - its a fantastic venue for CL and HC matches - the advantage is if you're in the south stand, you're close enough that the referee can hear every bit of abuse you shout at him (learnt this after the first HC home match i had a ticket for and we had an atrocious ref :))

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

    Was there any reason that the RDS was a once-off? I think anyone that was there this season will agree it was a resounding success, and also had a record CL attendance for the New Years Eve Leinster-Munster game.

    Credit to the Leinster branch, as everything from the seating to the floodlights to the banter and food/drink stalls were very well done IMO.

    gotta agree with you there - much better than a half empty lansdowne any day. Still quite annoyed that i missed the new years eve match, but was involved in other sporting activities again (i.e. getting soaked in sligo) - heard it was a hell of a game and a hell of an atmosphere.

    A cracker Crash; even better that we won! Although the banter was great with the Munster lads, there was 3 right moody c*nts behind us from Cork that lost the head completely at us as we were chatting to a few of the Red Army. Fools, giving the usual sh1t about D4 rugby and how its all poshies etc; they haven't got a clue!

    surely both provinces should give out vouchers to the fans which attend these games so they get tickets for the big one, as well as season ticket holders etc.

    It would be nice to have some way of getting a ticket, without having to join the supporters club (i'm ridiculuously broke at the mo - getting money for match tickets at the moment is hard enough, let alone joining the supporters club..if i'd thought of it last time i actually earned some daycent cash i shoulda gone for it)

    Taken From Munster Rugby:

    Munster have been informed by ERC Ltd that they will receive an allocation of 20,000 tickets for the Heineken Cup clash with Leinster at Lansdowne Road (Sun.23rd April 3pm.)

    This figure represents less than 50% of what Munster eventually distributed for the quarter final with Perpignan.

    Leinster will also receive an allocation of 20,000 tickets.

    Munster Ticket Allocation will distributed as follows,

    through the Munster rugby clubs, adult tickets (50%) will be made available to Munster clubs for distribution to their members;
    through the Munster Supporters Club;
    through Munster Schools;

    The remainder of the tickets being made available for purchase by Munster's Sponsors, Commercial Partners, Munster Squad&Management and Munster Branch Committees and Sub Committees.

    Direct from the horses mouth -

    MESSAGE TO MEMBER OF MUNSTER SUPPORTERS CLUB

    1. HEINEKEN CUP

    Carlsberg don’t do Supporters - but if they did it would be the Munster
    Rugby Supporters, You all did the club proud on Saturday. Most of our ticket
    allocation was in the East Stand Upper and Lower. One member in the East
    Terrace said the hairs were standing up on the back of his neck - such was
    the noise coming from the Stand behind him. And what about our Bodhran Band.
    They could be clearly heard all over the ground and got many a chant
    started. The banners and the flags were Fantastic. All in all a great day.

    Anyway looking ahead to the Semi's.

    Firstly - please do not phone or email Jennifer or the Club in relation to
    tickets. We will keep you fully informed by email.

    We would expect that tickets will go on sale via our web site by Wednesday or Thursday. Please keep an eye on your email and our web site for follow up
    details. Due to match being in less than three weeks and also the Easter holiday
    period, we expect that there will be a short window for purchasing tickets
    (2-3 days) to allow suficient time for processing of orders and posting

    We can confirm that there will be one ticket for each Member (full and
    associate) of the Club.

    Please keep an eye on the website for further news.

    Im a associate member (cant understand why more people dont sign up its only €25 for god sake )and my god I wouldnt miss it for the world.

    Allez Les Rouge!!!!

    Ah the same useless travellers who gave you a torrid time and you had a pack that could compete with them....?;)

    Still... Leinster have won the same amount of Heineken Cups as Munster!:D

    Easy tiger just takin the p1ss :D

    The only way I could get the tickets is by selecting family pack of 4... 2 adults and two kids .... not so bad as the wife and son want to go anyway. Mind you getting directly to cardiff is mad expensive 90% cheaper to fly to london fri night and get train up sat morning.

    Seriously try the family pack (£23 odd per ticket ) do it now !

    And for the record I'll be happy and proud to go and support Munster should it turn out so.

    Do they not hold back a proportion for the two clubs involved?? So there mite be sum available through the clubs ? Yes No??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,757 ✭✭✭The Rooster

    According to Millennium Stadium chief executive Paul Sergeant -
    "The two finalists will share at least 15,000 tickets". So at least 15,000 will be held back to be distributed by the two finalists through their own channels.

    Capacity is just under 75,000. By Sunday night almost 40,000 tickets had been sold. Ticketmaster may have more tickets up later. They get a certain allocation from the Millenium Stadium and sell those. Then they go back and look for more. So there can be periods when it looks like all tickets are sold, when in fact they are just waiting to get their next allocation. If someone rings ticketmaster they should be able to find out if more tickets will go on sale.

    That would only arise if either of the two finalists send back some of their allocation.

    None and Bob.
