    Ahhhhh... decisions, decisions!

Don't you just hate when you have a thread that potentially belongs in multiple forums and you're unsure of where it'll be appreciated most. This should potentially be in either Prime Time Cartoons, Television or Films. But Films is probably the most fitting as it is a theatrical release after all!

Anyways.. onto the point: 'The Simpsons' movie trailer arrived onto the Net somewhat under the radar yet the mirrors for it seem to be going down quite quickly.

So.. here it is uploaded onto my trusty Eircom webspace for your viewing!

Watch the (brief) teaser trailer here!

PS - my opinions, gave me a bit of a giggle but let's pray that's not an official logo!

That's a very old joke (that got taken to heart by many fans) by Nancy Cartwright (if i remember correctly).

Don't know there's any confirmation on what the plotline is yet.

Wow, July 2007 - taking their time eh?

    Homer in the
    Superman top
    was funny though.

They could've done without the Burns soundbite at the end... always trying to slip in an extra gag that scuppers the one before it.

    Psshaw.

IMDB has it as 2008! Whatever date tho I hope it tanks and Fox pull the plug on the TV show as a result.

Brief is certainly the right word for it. I love The Simpsons but the show has steadily been going downhill in quality with shows like Family Guy becoming better than it. I know its just a cash cow but ill still be going to see it. Plus according to that trailer its released on my birthday!

oh that there is the Simpsons to a tea!

they had a brilliant, masterfull joke in one of their episodes, the Burns' Heir one, when they're in the cinema and THX comes on, I swear a little wee-wee came out the first time I watched it, but they kill it when Grandpa Simpson says "turn it up, turn it up"

The recent episodes are horrible. So much so that if it were a new show i wouldnt give it a second of my time. It hasnt been decent in a long time and this movie is the worst idea ever. Its sad because the simpsons is actual comic genius, a term that is thrown around way too loosely these days. It is truly one of the greatest tv shows ever and this movie along with the downhill slide recently(for a long time actually:( ) will slightly tarnish that Im afraid.

Theres nothing worse than when good shows go on to long. Friends is a prime example. Ricky gervais and john cleese did the samrt thing stopping while the shows were still good and the simpsons should give it up before its too late.

The Simpsons, without a doubt, one of my favourite programmes ever - if not my number one favourite programme ever - has been going downhill for, ooh, probably eight, nine years. Cracks were starting to show around 1997 and even though there have certainly been brilliant episodes since, these have been getting less and less frequent. As for right now, The Simpsons is appalling. The gags have become like generic sitcom ones - with zero irony. Normally I'd steer clear of it if the announcer says "brand new episode", but one evening I stuck with it. I knew it would be crap but no way was I prepared for just how disappointing this genius creation has become. It was the one where the family visit a small Italian town in which Sideshow Bob has become mayor. Mother of jebus, a chimp would write a funnier script in five minutes. The main gag with the baby shouting "Vendetta! Vendetta!" was used over and over again. And it wasn't funny the first time. It's time for them to put it out of its misery, methinks. It should be remembered for its brilliance in the nineties, not for its crappiness in the 00s. As for the movie, can't see it being anything other than a pile of pooh.

there's only one thing that could make the simpsons decent again - conan o'brian writing for them again. but that wont happen. so end it now... or 2007/8, when this movie drops

Some storyboard footage from ComicCon.. i actually giggled once or twice during these clips which is actually more than i've giggled in the selection of episodes i've seen in the last 5 years of 'The Simpsons'

    Clip 1
    Clip 2

bit of over reaction from the crowd

This is America, remember. They over react to everything

First clip was just a normal simpsons episode, however the 2nd one actually got some mild giggles from me, which hasn't happened with a simspons episode in the past 5 years.

have to agree with a previous poster about writers, if they got conan & the others that jumped ship to futurama back on board for the movie it would have some potential, but i somehow doubt thats happened.

I read an interview with Groening in Nuts (i think it was) a few months back and he wouldn't confirm a release time as he said they didn't want to rush it and make sure it turned out exactly how he wants it.

I don't hold high expectations for it at all
