Naturalisation application - should a road offence be mentioned ?

I am planning to apply for naturalization, and I have a "dilema":

In one section they are asking for "Particulars of any proceedings(civil or criminal) which have been taken agains you in courts of law in the state or elsewhere".

Last year I was found guilty in a district court of breaking a red light. I was fined 150E, no penalty points or endorsment.

Does the paragraph above include road traffic offences ?
Should I mention my conviction there?

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. I do not intend to rely on this as legal advice.

Well its not a criminal offence its a road traffic offence but for this purpose I would mention it, it wont make a difference.

Basically they are looking for evidence of character, you must disclose this as it is a court proceeding taken against you in the state. It is unlikely to impact your application as it's a minor road traffic issue however you are likely to run into major problems if you fail to disclose it and it's subsequently found out about, they may start to wonder what else you failed to disclose on your application.

I'd tend to agree with that position. It would be alot more damaging if it later arose and it appeared that you had hidden the conviction.
