How do you get your DS online?

What router or usb dongle are you using?
was it easy to set up?

I ask cuz i've been fooling around with this Netopia 3347NWG router that Eircom gave me for about a month now, i can get it online but it diconnects everytime after exactly 10mins. I've emailed Netopia, Eircom and Nintendo and still nothing good coming from either.

Has anybody got this router to work or did you go get a usb dongle or new router and if so what makes?

    Cheers

That's actually tricky in itself, first open your eircom broadband home page thing (you know that eircom broadband icon on your desktop), and make sure the router is on, then go to your DS and look for the access point you should find one called "eircom1663 1314" or something like that,

test that connection and it will fail and you will then have to enter your WEP key which you can find on that web page you should have open, click the link on the left marked "wireless", the WEP key is called "Encryption Key" here.

After you enter that in the DS switch the "Auto-obtain IP address" option to "NO" and enter the info manually. For the IP address enter any number between 192.168.1.3 and 192.168.1.252, example 192.168.1.10

    Enter Subnet mask as 255.255.255.0

Now this was the tricky one, for the Gateway, go back to the home page of that router website thing, look down under "LOCAL NETWORK" the number you see next to IP address there is the number you enter for the Gateway on your DS.

And then both the DNS numbers will be found on that same page.

Now you should be able to get the DS online... HOWEVER you will most likely have the same problem as me, where it will disconnect by itself after 10mins exactly, but please try it out and see if it does, if it doesn't please tell me maybe i just got a bad router.

Is that a router or a USB dongle? I've heard of people buying a belkin USB dongle from Argos that worked, i was thinking of trying it but was wondering since dongles are meant to be for people without wifi routers would one work for me with my router or would my problem still be there?

I tried that but I'm still told there are no access points in range :(. My router is actually a 3347W, this could be the reason. It looks like a few people are having trouble with the 3347Ws: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054854398
