Anyone know much about this guy? I saw the film "What the bleep do we know?" after that thread on After Hours, anyway I also recently saw him in a film called "The Secret".

Was a bit of a shock to be honest, hearing him going from explaining "Double slit experiment" to talking about how [from The Secret] "Good thoughts emit waves into the universe that attract the things we want".

Got me thinking.. are all quantum physicists this wierd? :D

Why don't you invite him over for tea and crumpets?
(I'll bring a radioactive source, a Geiger counter, a hammer, a sealed glass glask containing deadly poison fumes, and a fancy box. Phew! It's getting warm in here...)

Looks like you mean this guy

Seems he started as a physicist, but went badly downhill. He's also been associated with infamous nutjob Jack Sarfatti.

Speaking as a quantum physicist, no, we're not all like him.

Quantum physics gets abused by people trying to explain the paranormal, etc, but thats all bull****. Usually these people don't really have any idea of how quantum physics actually works, although some may explain their misinterpretation in a convincing manner.

"What the bleep do we know" has to be one of the most hated films among physicists (particularly quantum physicists of various sorts).

For what its worth, physicists, on the whole, are about the most skeptical group of people you'll ever meet. There are, as always, a few exceptions, and these tend to grab the headlines.
