Of course you should always see a doctor, before everybody starts screaming.
Just wonder if there is a site that you check boxes, sort of like a troubleshooting guides you see. You put in vague symptoms and they narrow the questions down and down and then give you the possible illness you may have.

If I have anything I want to check up, I usually put those symptoms into google, and see what comes out

    www.wrongdiagnosis.com

Altho the warning is in the name I suppose...

Not a good idea for hypochondriacs. You check to see if you have an ulcer and end up convinced you're dying of mouth cancer & only have 4 days to live

Re all the "see a doctor" folk, do any of you actually know or care how much that costs? Nothing worse than seeing a thread on PI where someone asks is anyone familiar with their symptoms to be closed on the "see a doctor" rule. I know we are not qualified but if someone has the exact same symptoms of something you have previously had its a fair bet its the same thing, and it often isnt doctor worthy. I havent seen a doctor in about 4- 5 years, and it was about 40 quid back then.

Actually there is something worse- going to the doctor, paying 50 minimum and being told it will clear soon. God dammit, if im spendin 50 quid i nearly want it to be serious to justify it!

thats just it gopher, they're not qualified. for example in the early stages meningitis has similar symptoms to the flu. if you posted those symptoms in PI you'd be told to go to bed with a hot water bottle and you'd probably never leave it again

    Really, do a symptons search.

I remember during the dotcom boom, there was a website www.americasdoctor.com. It was a bunch of doctors sitting in a chatroom, answering yout questions for free. Some of their advice was a bit dodgy though. I remember I asked a sex related question and his answer was something like "Simple, stop having sex". I tried to explain that wasn't an option and he couldn't understand... damn americans :)

Yes I know and yes I care. I don't go for every little sniffle but if I need to I do. It can be expensive but for the peace of mind it's well worth it in my opinion, I've grown quite fond of this whole living thing.
