Newbie here, so I hope this is the correct forum for this.
Is there anywhere in Dublin that will modify a camcorder to enable "video in"? I believe this feature is readily available in US or Asian models, and is disabled in the EU model of same camcorder. I have an old Sony TRV87E Hi-8 camcorder and I would like to be able to use it to record from an external source other than just through the lens (ie tv or video) . I have seen some solutions on the web which involve buying a specialised connecting cable / or wired lanc remote control, but I am a bit reluctant to step into the unknown. In short, does anyone know someone who can do this?

AV-in is not as easy to enable within the last year or two. It was a case of just altering the firmware to enable AV-in but now it is a hardware feature and not so easy to alter.

    Cal.
