Picked up Yeah Yeah Yeahs new album which totally rocks, apart from the fact that Real Player crashes every time I try to copy the tracks on to my laptop as mp3s. This is the only cd Real Player has failed me on.

Anybody else experienced this? Know any better ripping s/w that might handle it?

    Audiograbber to rip to wav
Exact Audio Copy to encode using LAME.

    Job done.

    As above, or CDEX.
Check the fine print for any mention of DRM/restrctions on copying?

    Thanks for the tips.

I tried Audiograbber, got a little further than with Real Player but can't rip the first two tracks. Check out the screen shot attached.

    They're being sneaky...

There is other software that records everything going past the soundcard. and saves as wave or mp3. I use it for streaming audio sites. Cant remember the name but I found it on boards.

Just be careful cos if you click while recording it includes the little beep.
Then you can edit and remove the start and end excess
