Theres been a lot of talk of strikes in the news lately. I was wondering what happens in strike in terms of people getting paid or not paid. Or people not in unions what do they do? Anyone ever been in one and what was their experience of it.

If you find an employer that pays striking workers please pass on my CV to them.

Unions generally have funds to pay strikers something, when and how much is down to the particular union's regulations.

People not in unions rarely strike, without collective support it is basically career suicide.

    .

Union strike pay is usually a pittance. I remember my Dad, getting about a tenth of his wages, when they striked in the 80s - six weeks of that was no fun:(
