Temporarily sold out = don't expect it to come into stock any time soon....

Nice choices in general, wouldn't touch a NorthQ power supply though...

Looking at the fsb that board supports you could do with better Ram. This might be in your price range:

Not really up on current systems so you might wanna ask the folks on this board.

    Good luck with the rig

Nice system though if you are going to spend that kind of money on a high end graphics card I would go with an X1900XTX instead as you will want to run with the maximum eye candy with AA/AF and everything else but the GF7 series cannot do AA on HDR lighting so you will be forced into a choice of one or the other. The X1900XTX also has the edge in games over the long term due to it's more powerful shader processing see benchmarks of the Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and FEAR as an example, also for games down the road see this new HD trailer of Crytek's Crysis.

Also possible conflict some Maxtor HD's have issues with certain nForce 4 boards, I had some connected to an Asus board and it was not pleasant. The ones Komplett are selling may have the new firmware on them already but I would play it safe and go with something from Western Digital instead if you are sticking with Asus.

Oh yeah and the NorthQ PSU avoid get a Tagan

If your planning on overclocking get differnt Motherboard, like DFI and different RAM, OCZ, Crucial Ballistix and G.Skill are good choices.

Components are great except for PSU and ram and cooler

Tagan and enermax are excellent PSUs and they arent to pricey.

Crucial dont make 2gb Ballistix anymore, they overclocked great but they always died and Crucial nearly went out of business RMAing them:(

2gb dont overclock as well as 1gb kits but Geil and Gskill have some good 2gb kits

I would get a arctic freezer 64 pro too, That cooler is probably only marginally better than the stock cooler. The freezer 64 comes with MX-1 thermal paste too;)

Nice, though if you were willing to overclock, i would consider an opteron 144 or 146, as they have the FX 57 core. I have heard of people getting them overclocked to the same speeds as an Fx - 57 on air cooling, and they only cost around E230 :D

    Link to opty 144:

Make sure it is a good stepping though.

I'd wait until June when the new Athlon64 socket (M2 or whatever) comes out - it has DDR2 RAM support which should make a decent enough improvement.

Opteron is for workstations not for gaming pcs

True but it can be used for overclocking it's the same kind of core as the Athlon 64. But overclocking is not automatically guaranteed to reach those speeds and personally if you can afford it steer clear as it will only give you headaches if it doesn't work out.

If you are not into overclocking the Athlon 64 X2 delivers better performance and at a better price.

bzzzzt wrong. It's the exact same chip as the equivalent athlon 64. Just marketed at servers and workstations. As long as you get a Socket 939 Opteron theres no difference to a Socket 939 Athlon 64, except for the opteron is more likely to get a good overclock.

Check out Shop4memory they have a 2GB kit DDR400/PC3200 from Geil going for €217. But you could probably get something under €200 by buying 4 DIMM's that is if your motherboard has 4 memory slots.

    I Love Maxtor.

Cheap, fast, big and reliable as hell. That said with all I've heard about Maxtors and Asus/nForce 4, I wouldn't be keen to try it, I'm going to be in a similar position soon my current PC is a dinosaur :(

Also if you're planning to add any kind of internal modem, dial-up or ADSL, avoid anything with a Conexant chipset. Conexant is evil, anything running them won't hold a connection.
