    Hi All

I wondered if anyone can give any recommendations of where to stay for 1 week in San Francisco.

My boyfriend and I are planning to be there for the last week in September. We will travel to Vegas 1st and then on to San Fran for the last week of the hols.

Budget? Well, anything from €100 to €250 per night I suppose - we're saving like hell so we can make this a good one, but recommendations would be great. Also on where to eat, what to see, and so on.

This is our 1st holiday in 3 years so want to make it a good one.

    Thanks to one and all.....

We stayed in the Marriott Renaissance Parc - lovely hotel, smack bang in the middle of everything, you can even get the BART ( same as DART) from the airport.

Stayed in the Adante Hotel (www.adantehotel.com) last year. Nice enough and only three blocks from Union Square.

Tip:Try to book your trip to Alcatraz before you go.

i stayed in the adante in jan and its grand for the price. we booked it through hotel.com . just dont walk down jones st towards market st at night as that will take u through the tenderloin, not as bad an area as it used to be but still not great at night.
and i definatly agree with Zebra3 about booking alcatraz. in summer it sells out weeks in advance and it is definatly worth the viset.

Stayed in the Gates Hotel next to Union Square. Very reasonable, 100euro a week, with a complimentary crack pipe and local nutball for a neighbour. Keep in mind for the authentic San Fran experience!:D

Stayed in the Commodore Hotel, which was very good value and a good location. It's on Sutter Street, and there are a good few other hotels in the same price range on the same street. Have a look on Google Earth with both streets and lodging checked and you should find them.
