They always have someone unrelated on those things. So as to have another opinion on it rather than the experts opinion

Quite correct. I give you that wide mouthed fishwife Kerry Katatonic, judging aspiring "musicians" as a prime example.

At least she was in the music business to some extent. Ah i think it makes it a bit more intresting having someone in the panal that is not as experienced, as there probable going to give a more "real" opinion, and probable think the same as most people watching it .

I wouldn't say that :) Her biggest contribution to music was an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to trap a "boyband" member under a flood of soiled nappies and cancelled strip club appointments. Sadly that backfired, when said ex "boyband" member went "solo", donned the obligatory guitar medallion (musical instrument, worn around the neck in public as often as possible, but purely for cosmetic reasons, as the wearer wouldn't know a fret from a pick) and rode off into the Australian sunset on the back of a mediocre Antipodean singer, hopefully never to be seen again. Every cloud and all that. Her days are now occupied advertising for supermarkets, receiving undeserved mum of the year awards, and shouting death threats in airports.

That's quite true. Although these shows are generally muck, one saving grace is the inevitable presence of a "realist" on the panel, where it occurs. If only Podge and Rodge could be prevailed upon to judge on one or more of these programmes.

post this already on another thread but this is a better one....

Well I have to say just watched it and I enjoyed it, RTE show a hell of alot worse, and its not as serious as come dancing, they are celebrates and its for good causes. That english bloke is way out of his league on the panel, by his own admission he knows nothing about irish dance.

Dana was probably the best dancer of all of the celebs, really thought micheal would do better, pity his knee was at him.

    The Natural World.

Would you watch the likes of Riverdance? Or Lord of the Dance?

No? But you'd watch any sort of celeb doing the same stuff horribly. Am I right?

    "Celebrity Culture" gone mad.

Who won celebrity jigs and reels?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,575 ✭✭✭junkyard

Its the biggest load of s***e I've ever seen on T.V. ever. They must be giving the audience free drink to be as enthusiastic as they are but it has to to be a 10 on the cringe scale in my opinion. :o

We need a second series. Who should the have on next time?

I would like it to include:

    Sinead O'Connor
    Brian Kennedy
    Ronan Keating
    Andrea Corr
    Jim Corr
    Mary Coughlan
    Mary O'Rourke
    Gerry Adams

Do you know if any of those can dance?

The next time "The Premiership" or "6 Nations Rugby" is on, RTE should field two teams of celebs and see how it goes down. Mixed. B-list actors.

They should also have Jean Butler as a panellist when Ireland are playing England in Croker next year.
