Typing Mischief

Ok, this is completely vague and random. I have an odd problem with BF2 and was wondering if it was just me.

Sometime, when im typing, it'll double one of the keystrokes, often with a slight delay. For example, if I hit "j" once and then start typing an ingame message, that message with often have a "j" at the start because it registered a double hit. By far the worst consequence so far has happened when im flying a chopper. If the sentence I type has an "e" at the end and I hit enter and it registers a second "e", well....you can imagine the sky diving consequences. Ask Rope, I've accidently bailed out of our chopper about five times by now. (On that note, stop playing WoW ya deserter!)

So, do I have a buggy keyboard or has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Honestly i type it right then look at and i gt soting lke tis haening


There is something seriously wrong with it, tried sticking my KB in a USB 2.0 slot to see if that helped but it didnt.

So are you saying something about BF2 or are you just taking the opportunity to gang up on keyboards in general?

I hadda getta new keyboard cuz N & space bar stopped workin
But yes, this has happened a few times before with me. Also sometimes forget to hit the j/k/l whatever key to type & ya just fall out while typin & hit E :rolleyes:

Yes thats happened me too, but this is different.

i know what you're on about. sometimes i used to type stuff out and it'd skip letters, like i'm going too fast for it to recognise. then i upgraded my gfx and it semi-fixed itself. it happens, but it's a lot less of an issue now.

also, is it just me, or in commander mode, when i go to type something to my team or whatever, there'll be a letter there (usually z) already?

I dont type in choppers anymore. E is one of the most common letters and I am sick of bailing out accidently. Its like the Red Name bug, they will probably never fix it.

Yeah!!!!! I get this exact thing too... wasn't gonna say anything cos I didn't want anyone to point and laugh but yeah that happens to me too..

The "J" thing happens with me all the time, really annoying.

Loads of wee errors like that crop up while in game, i don't think anyone has ever complained to EA about it or if they have EA haven't bothered announcing or fixing it yet.

it's so regular an occurance i'd be shocked if EA/Dice employee's haven't come accross it themselves

The number of times I've jumped out of planes or choppers by mistake, and you desperately start hitting 9 to deploy the parachute to no avail
