Took a wonderful pic of a Swan today in Blackrock Park inbetween showers... Thought I'd share it with you guys :). And a few other pics from today. I will later add a few more in this thread but haven't had the time to convert the RAWs yet. Anyway, here goes

Oh that last pic was taken while walking with the camera hanging to my side, kinda liked the effect it created!

Some more will come later, comments welcome as always.

    Cheers,

There were two really big swans there... I was taking pictures for about 5 minutes of them, this was one of the last. They got really close to me so was really cool. I was only 2 meters from this swan when I took the shot. I'll post some more of the swans tomorrow, I think I have about 30 pics... will delete a few though.

Yup, but up the contrast! No point in having black and grey :P

How do you get the orange graffiti in the far righthand corner look so dark? I've been experimenting myself a bit to get a better conversion, but it turns out very bright in mine (using channel mixer and brightness/contrast adjustment layers).

Still I think I've been able to improve on the previous version:

Here's two more pics from the tunnel. As I was experimenting in Photoshop I kinda discovered this effect by accident but really like the result of it... especially in the 2nd pic this worked out great:

    Here's what I did:
Duplicate the original color layer and convert it to B&W. Add a Brightness/Contrast Adjustment Layer and highered the contrast till satisfied. I applied a Sepia Tone Style to the B&W Layer and then lowered the Opacity of this layer to let the colors from the underlying layer come through.
