    When i draw a swift line down the length of an A4 sheet of paper with my ballpoint pen, how fast in rpm is the ball at the tip of the pen travelling at?

    length of page/Circumference of the tip = Revoultions

    then what ever time it takes you to draw the line.

    How long does it take you to draw the line (t)? And how long is the line (x)?

    The next thing we need to know is the diameter of the ball in a ball point pen. A common value seems to be 1.2mm, giving a circumference of 3.8 mm. Thus every revolution of the ball point covers 3.8mm. Divide 3.8 into x to get the amount of revolutions required to draw the line.

    Then divide the amount of revolutions into the time take to get the revs per second. Remember to multiply by 60 to get the revs per minute
