As some of you know the Irish Poker Open hits Dublin in mid April. For myself and most students we will never be able to afford the 3,000 euro buy in to the main event, however, on Sunday April 16, is the 300+30 side event. This is SLIGHTLY more affordable. I'm wondering if there is much demand for a 30+3 Freeze-out, or 30+3 with 1 rebuy or topup (i.e. MAX SPEND 66) as a qualifier for the 300+30 game. If we got 25-30 people willing to play a 30 euro freezeout, top 3 get a ticket to play this? the plan would be to play this qualifier on Friday April 7th, from 2pm, 10,000 chips, slow blind levels, and if still playing when college closes we'll move somewhere to finish if needs be.

    So, ANYONE INTERESTED?????

Yes I would definitley be interested in something like this. Think this would be very popular among the student population, also like the idea of allowing for a rebuy ou top up thus allowing a few tickets.Great idea-hope this goes ahead.

likewise. Would probably prefere if it was a freezeout or one rebuy only, no top ups.

Is the 300+30 a rebuy or freezeout?

looks like we'll get at least 4 or 5 from boards, same as poker.ie, then i know of a couple who will play and no doubt we'll get a minimum of 5 from DIT... 20 players easily i'd say, if half use the optionto rebuy or topup we'd have 3 tickets up for grabs i think... and its early days yet so there could still be plenty more interest.

Friday, April 7th. 2pm. Tournament will be structured to end by 9pm, i.e. 10,000 chips if only 15 or so players, but if there is 50+ players it will be 4,000-5,000 etc.

It will be in DIT Aungier St, in the ground floor canteen. Registration will be from 1pm.
