Clonmel 5.25 Twiststickorbuy should run a good race today, I was very impressed with it's last run at Clonmel 18 days ago when it was given to me as a tip. The only downside to this run is the jockey, and Geraghty is on Patsy Bee who should also go well. I'm narrowing this down to a race between Bye Day, Patsy Bee and Twistickorbuy. Bye Day won for me in Clonmel when I was there a few weeks ago and really did not like the step up in distance since that run, it comes here again back down to 2m 4f and cannot be ruled out. Blue Corrig has not impressed me in a long long time.

Decision: Dutching on Bye Day and Twiststickorbuy.

I'm Going to nap a horse if yiz don't mind :)

    Clonmel. 3.15

Fair enough, it is not a high price, but I think Over the First, currently trading at 1.57 is an absolute banker for this. He looked good finishing 3rd last time out, and before that, he beat Joueur D' Estruval by a neck (whom he also beat in January). He has 6lbs over his rivals Kilbeggan Lad, who has not been up to scratch of late, and Laragh house, who has not ran since october. Laragh house is a decent horse so therefore is a small worry, but I don't think he has what it takes to win this.

Bet: Over the First (Win @ 1.57)

    4:25 Clonmel HOW IS THINGS

The favourite in this, Ring Of Beara, poses more questions than answers and represents poor value in my opinion. The selection is coming off the back of a decent second to Russian Buck where she had Permiya and Carroll Encore (reopposing today) behind her. More importantly for the form she had News Item 7 lengths back. This was a selection some weeks back and won fairly easy in a hotter contest.

The race How Is Things tackles today is a slightly inferior race to that last effort and the 4-1 available is generous in my opinion.

    Kilbeggan Lad winner at 4s.

Over the First was a sitting duck all race and jumped the last very badly when coming under pressure.

Heard a bit of a whisper for Cunningham's folly had 3:55, it's been very well backed. Has shown very little form to date but you always have to respect the Brassil yard when the money is down.

One of my good mates is in the syndicate for How Is Things and I've just been chatting to him. He says she has a good chance of a win today.

Didn't jump a fence all the way around and made a has of the last when challenging. I won't talk much through my pockets but that's the last time I back a horse that Geraghty is on.

Agree with you about Geraghty fade, you were only saying it to me the other day.

My NAP had himself a bloody nap at the end :(

For the horse to still be in contention at the last says a lot for her though and I'll be backing her next time if Geraghty is not on board. Have a read through Barry's recent stats for some interesting reading.

I've been looking through a lot of Geraghty's recent races and there's a trend i'm beginning to notice... In the form summary for a lot of his rides the word mistake is used a lot but when you go to the horse's previous form a lot less mistakes seem to be made.

Again, like the Carberry discussion where I was proved wrong, this is just a debate...

    Any opinions?

I have a couple of opinions, firstly I think there is a fortune to be made by laying my selections :o

Secondly, Geraghty is a disaster, and it's becoming more apparent in recent months. He strangles the horse and makes it near impossible for the animal to come from off the pace. When he rides he looks like he's ****ting himself incase he falls.
