Play internet poker you must read this!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone Duke here as most of you probably know I am no longer at the sporting emporium, as it goes I got a job for 10 days in st.maartin. at the end of may. the main event is a €2500 buy in there are satellites being run on Americas cardroom.com the boss gave me a sign up code (11DUKEBOX1) an asked me to put the word out.
There are satellites every night for $12 the mad thing is they run with only 6 people in ???? winning a ticket in this gets you into the main qualifier (€110) this is where it gets mad, as long as there are 10 people in they not only give you a ticket you also get $750 air fare $750 accomodation an $500 spending money CRAZY this is not a bluff the one last Sunday ran with 16 people in it take a look for yourselfs. And all the players are American!!!! Lol I spent months on poker stars trying to qualify for these type of events against 1000+ players why not just beat 20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    See you in st martin

I have taken a look at it and for those tourny players out there this really is a very impressive deal, you win a $12 stt feeder to a satellite that gives a package to 1 in 20 players, $2k in flights, hotels, spending money and then they pay your $2.6 entry into a tourny in the Caribbean!!!
This has got to be recommended, thank Duke and bring your suntan lotion!
Btw it isn't www.cardroom.com from America, it is www.americascardroom.com , in case you end up downloading the wrong site! It's on the poker network by the way which is a big network even though we rarely play it around here, but it's a lot bigger than say the Tribeca network so if you deposit you will get games.

but the site is absolutely crap. This has to be the single worst interface, user oriented site out there. Hard to decide if its worth it.

Duke (or anyone else who might know)
How does the transport bit work out for this package? Does the cardroom book your flights or do you do it yourself out of the $750 that theyve allocated. The cheapest flights to StMaarten that I can see are €820 return from CDG Paris (plus whatever to get from Dublin to CDG). But obviously theres no guarantee this price will still be available by the time you win your ticket.
The price with KLM via Schipppol is about €3000.
    AJs.

P.S In general how does this work for other cardrooms, they tend to quote allowances for transport/accomodation etc, do you have to book these yourself or is like a 'package holiday'?

Usually you book your own flights. When I went out there I booked via JFK and spent a couple of days in New York. Flights are quite expensive. If you did go via this route make sure on your return flight from the Caribbean that you leave a long time for your connecting flight. We left three hours but it wasn't enough.

Another tip for anyone who does go is bringing plenty of cash if you have a significant other to buy diamonds. No I'm not kidding. Next to the Maho Beach there is a great Jewellers. I had the missus with me and bought her some earrings, a ring and a bracelet… cost was about $3000… I also bought a diamond for my ring which they mounted … on the ring… for $100. When we got back we got the items professionally valued… €12000 for the wife’s haul and €600 for my diamond alone. Also in the main town electrical goods are very cheap. At least a third off the price over here.

The tourney I was at was well run and the card room is massive. But beware the blackjack tables as they are very dodgy. Seemed an awful lot of low cards, and when a punter asked for a new shoe they refused.

Other than that it’s a great place… and the aircraft aren’t really a problem.

I once left a gap of 1 hour 40 min for a connecting flight between Philadelphia and Fort Lauderdale,it looked good on paper.I missed the flight which could have been because of the free alcohol on the previous flight.I was going mad Philadelphia is not nearly as nice as Fort Lauderdale.

Inland Revenue are responsible for the collection of direct taxation such as Income tax and stamp duty.

Customs is an authority or agency responsible for collecting customs duties and for controlling the flow of people, animals and goods (including personal effects and hazardous items) in and out of the country.
