No gigs have even been announced yet.

Rumour has it David Gray will play weekend of June 24th/25th so there will be another gig that weekend too.

    MCD are the promoters.

The hot rumours are David Gray and Stereophonics round these parts (I'm about a mile from Ardgillan).

David Gray would be good. Didn't they have some planning issue or something, and this delayed the announcement.

David Gray is in Cork the weekend the was mentioned isnt he.

They applied for four dates but made a mistake on the application, so it had to be resubmitted. This was in the local rag.

The concerts scheduled for the weekend of 17th/18th June have been definitely been cancelled due to errors in MCD's license application.

The earliest MCD can run new concerts - assuming that they get their ass in gear - is 16 weeks from date of a new application being lodged. Ergo, if they lodged an application this week the could have concerts by the last weekend in July.

It is not likely that this will happen. Most likely that MCD will go for a double-header in late August or September.

BTW - If anyone wants to start new rumours about who may be playing - there's a guy from the Fingal Indo who pops into the beer garden in Nealon's in Skerries of a Sunday afternoon. He's a great one for picking up gossip & passing it off as "an exclusive". Had the concerts not been canned you would have heard that Bob Dylan was playing on Sunday 18th June (courtesy of a couple of select nuggets of bull spouted by yours truly over a pint a few weeks ago).
