i've just about got everything installed from my old powerbook onto the macbook and spent the last few hours perfectly tagging all of my albums and searching for artwork.. all seems fine at last...

but i've left the compilations out of the library for the time being as i havn't figured out the best way to store them, yet..
itunes creates a new folder for each artist on each compilation cd imported leaving many artists with only one song in their directory..
small problem i know but it's annoying when browsing my artists thinking i've got full albums that arn't actually there..

i'm wondering if any of ye have a way around this before i delve in and start having to rename them all to the one artist and dump them all in the one directory?
(picky i know, but it's my music, and theres a lot of it.. i must be organised!)

I think there is something you can tick before you import the compilation CD? Something like "Part of a compilation". When you tick this it places each artist/song into a main "Compilations" folder which is handier for browsing on your hard drive!

Also, here's a tip from the Apple site about browsing iTunes...
    Group Compilations

To see all songs on a compilation CD grouped together in your library, make sure you select the “Group compilations when browsing” option in iTunes Preferences (click the General button). If this checkbox is deselected, all songs from compilation CDs appear individually by artist in the Artist list (in the browser).

    Hope this helps! :)
