Sky+ recording playback issue?

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with playback of recordings made on Sky+ boxes recently? For the last few weeks some recordings are impossible to watch as they jerk and skip continuously. I rang sky about this and they got me to do a full system reset (havent tested it until this evening) but I have just read a thread on another board (DS) where lots of people seem to be having this issue also. That solution ohnly seems to be a very temp fix.

Sky are just sending out engineers and replacing boxes but some people seem to still have this problem even with the new boxes. I dont want to go through that expense if it is a sky software problem or if replacing the hd will do the trick.

    Any info greatly appreciated.

Bad disk or poor dish alignment. Check quality bargraph is over 50%.

Reformat disk if there is this option?

ludo i,ve had the same prob, about 2 weeks ago i had badly skiping recordings and sunday night i had 2 recordings stop in mid play, also having occasionally the live pause problem, and partial records maybe 15mins of a show and thats all, message on banner said no capacity, but disk was at 75%space available. Did a complete reset last night, losing a whole bunch of recordings.
Seems ok for now, but will keep an eye on it.

My box has a life of its own. Somedays it may record, and then others it wont.
The "please wait" banner has become a regular visitor to our tv screen.
And last night was a first that I have seen.
Press record, then the 'R' logo would show beside the show. Then 2 seconds later it would go away. It was like the box was saying "No, I don't want to record that". Considering now, that I had 92% free disk space.

I was going to replace it, but I feel that it would be worthy of me waiting for the Sky HD box, and use my Sky plus as the FTA receiver, and donate the Pace box to one of the other rooms in the house.
