    Party 3/6 NL
I have been active of late, but its because the deck has been hitting me in the face. It probably looks like I'm aggro, but I haven't really shown down any hands thus far.

I have 800 in the SB
Villain has 700 in the BB and is chatting with one of the other guys at the table. Obviously a reg so.

    Preflop
Folded to me with KhKd in the SB. I make it 21 to play. Villain calls

    Flop (42)
    Ah Th 4h
I lead for 30, villain makes it 120, I think, and push ....

    thoughts ?

Its not the worst push. You're only a marginal dog against Ax and AT/A4. A set you're in more trouble but still only slightly further behind.

Problem is your table image means any Ax holding is calling you here. But maybe thats what you want...

I think you're behind here, the obvious problem with flat calling is that any heart on the turn probably kills your action, but I don't like committing my stack when I'm behind.

I would guess that his range is something like AA-99(although I think he re-raises preflop with QQ-JJ)AQ-AT, or maybe KQs which he folds to your initial flop bet. I think he definitely re-raises preflop with AK, and possibly AQ-AJ.

Would he call here with QhJh, 9h8h?

Of course he could figure you're trying to steal from the SB, but he's still laying down most of the potential ranges he would see a flop with.

I think he's only calling your push here with hands that are in front of you and taking at best a 45-55 shot for my stack isn't something I'm comfortable with. Does this bet take him off AQ-AJ? more than likely but I wouldn't be willing to risk it.

Maybe that's why I'm still playing in the paddling pool :)

I look forward to being corrected

    Really?
    Would you call with AsQc?

Based on your aggressive image it would be a marginal call. If i had AsQh/Jh, then I would call.

    I like it.
His call will usually mean AQ etc. Therefore he cant have the flush, and will probably fold. He could call with AQ with the Qh i guess. But I think thats the only hand you can be worried about.

Again if he has a set he wont have the heart, so if he's a good reg, he could lay it down.

I've been aggressive, but not like a maniac. And he cant peg me as a moron.

What do you think my hand range for doing this is?

AsJh .... jebus man, you call with that?
    Even AxQh .... is trouble.

What on earth do you think I have?

I may call an aggressive opponent if I feel he's getting out of line. His raise is saying "I think you have nothing". Your push is saying "yes I do". His decision is then "do I believe you" :p .

AQh I'm calling here. AJh I'd drop prefllop.

I love the play , his raise looks out of place here and is very unlikely he has a hand he can commit his stack with confidently

I think he would be surprised to see you had such a big hand

I think the majority of the time he has an Ace here and he folds it to your all in...He will call with flushes and sets, and AT!??...
I'd be curious as to wot numbers get churned out on pokerstove.

I like the push its a very powerful play, he cant call with less than top two and even that would be a tough call.

If I am the villain here I have to think you either have a set or ak with a heart, hence if he cant beat that he cant call. If he has ak or aq and finds a call hard luck.

    Results:
Villain thought for a long time and finally called with TT

Jh on the turn and blank on the river gave hero the win.
