Having problems with the connection speed to a wireless router. 2 of us are using the wireless router and my connection speed is always a steady 54MBps, but my flatmates connection fluncuates between 54 down to 1 and often disconnects.

    Any ideas on this?

Is there any form of interference
Could it be a dodgey aerial in a computer? Apple iBooks suffer from this

Well when both sitting in the same room his speeds seems to flucuate an awful lot.
He's using an Sony Viao and I'm using a Dell.
He says when he's connected wirelessly in college his speed doesn't change that much.

Sorry I know this is a bit of a wild goose chase but if ye any ideas it'd be great.

Has he gotten the most up todate drivers for his wireless chipset?

Its very simple really... not all wireless cards or routers are created equal.

I find that Belkin Pre-N Mimo routers and adaptors are brilliant, and so far, RangeMax routers seem to be pretty good also, though I have yet to plug in an proper rangemax adaptor.
