    Am curious,

Many years ago I used to moisturise my lips daily to prevent chapping, if I stopped they immediatly got very chapped. However once I was away on a camping trip with the cub scouts and didnt have any cream, the lips got very bad but then healed right up and ever since then have only very rarely had to use moisturiser on them and take care to only do it for a day or two at a time.

So does skin have a moisturisation "memory"? Is it bad to use a moisturiser every day or should they only be used on dry skin and only when absolutely necessary?
Wondering if there is any medical grounds to this ?
