Xbox 360 boot problem

    I know there was a thread round here before on this but I can't find it with the search function.

    Basically, my Xbox 360 does not start first time - I have to turn it on (with remote), wait a while, turn it off, and then turn it back on again, and this time the green ring on the console flashes and it boots up properly. Its starting to annoy me and the fact that sometimes it wont boots and gives a System Error 74 is making me think I should have it looked into so appreciate any pointers.
