    We have a position open for a summer placement suiting a student, or even a good post leaving cert head. (A PFY for a BOFH scenario).

    This is a junior helpdesk/network administrator role. The role will be for approx 12 weeks, maybe more. I'm unsure about pay, but it will be along standard rates of pay for such a position.

    Any potential hire for this role need not be particularly experienced, but we will need someone who can work on their own. Enthusiasm will count for alot. Below is some blurb on what any applicant would be expected to work on. It's a varied role, and you WILL learn ALOT.

    * Unix server administration.
    * Windows desktop/laptop administration.
    * Firewall/Router/VPN maintainance and troubleshoot.
    * VOIP telecomms environment maintainance.
    * Access/MySQL reporting.
    * Website hardware and content maintainance.
    * LAN/WAN networking, including 802.11 wireless networks.
    * Helpdesk support.

    Post or PM for details on contacting me.

    I acknowledge that you don't know how much you'll be paying, but can you give a rough figure? Also, is it in Galway city, or not? Finally, what type of certification would one need for the job?

    I've had a word with HR about the rates of pay. It's a short term role, and pay will be equivalent to about €22K PA, could be more, I'm not sure.

    There are no qualifications required. Read the OP.

    Location is in Parkmore Business Park, beside the racecourse, just outside the city.
