Have a couple of days off and was planning to take a spin by myself somewhere and stay for a few days to take some pictures. Anyone have any personal scenic favourites they'd like to share? I was thinking bout just getting a cheap hotel in Kerry and spending some time on the coast but im open to any options really.

I'm from Kerry and could not rec. the place highly enough for photos. Although, you would want some decent enough weather. I would head back west in the dingle direction, but try and avoid all the usual spots, head for places like Claghane, and Mount Brandon, some incredibly impressive scenery down that way. Alternatively head for the ring, towards Kenmare direction.

Aside from Kerry I'm told there are som great shots to be hand in Quiet Man country near Clong and places. Hopefully that can help the thought process.

You could always go up north - Do a coastal run up there, there's some fantastic beaches, towns and scenery in general.

Kerry is a lovely place too, haven't been there in a good while.

Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula are great... one of my favorite places in Ireland. Although Connemara and Donegal are very nice as well.

Damn weather looks bloody freezing and wet for the next few days :( Feck it might take a spin down to Kerry anyway. There's always black and white for all the overcast days. Now for a cheap single room hotel.........

There's plenty of affordable accomodation in Killarney and a great starting point for the Ring of Kerry. There's also a tourist office to get some maps if you need any. And don't be too disappointed about the weather, in changeable conditions you can make the most beautiful landscape pictures.
