Right complete disaster. Team 5 had five men for the first half of the round (we didn't realise, he was still on the scoreboard, just didn't do anything, I dont think he even spawned once), then we had four men for the second half. After half a dozen pauses, and half pauses, it fell apart and ended. I think it lasted the 20 minutes. Either way, some NRG are insisting the first round counts, frankly I think thats a joke as I spent several minutes sitting quietly thinking we were paused.

I don't actually care about the league point, but that was not a fair fight, it wasn't even a clean fight, half the players stopped fighting thinking it was paused.

I think we should reschedual the whole thing and castrate Wavey.

some really bad lag during the 2nd game.

no offence but its kinda hard to mistake a game for being paused. its either paused, or not puased, theres no 'i think it was paused' about it, unless you mean you didnt think it was live. anyway i think scrapper says a rematch is okay so its all good.

That was half the problem! A bunch of people spent some of the round trying to make it pause, and it went "not live" for a while while that was being sorted...

But no, I don't think we need to castrate wavey, I assume he had network problems or his house exploded or something...But yes, a rematch would be nice!

But fair play Vialli spot on again...

To be fair, the GUI showed 'PAUSED' while it was (paused).

To explain.

While we were running around just b4 the match, our 2 dogs (German Sheppard & Collie cross) decided to try and kill each other downstairs. My Fiance started freaking out and screaming.
I was upstairs shooting with earphones wondering what that weird high pitched noise i was hearing was.
So I take off the earphones and hear herself losing the plot and the smaller of the 2 dogs squeelling as the German shepard picked it up and shook it about.

Wearing only slippers I bounded down the stairs in two jumps and separated the dogs. (Go me)

After all the excitement I started to get a savage pain in my heel and havent been able to walk on it since. An X-Ray this morning showed it to be chipped. So I am now in work with crutches.

Any attempt to castrate or joke about castrating Wavey will be met with a Crutch Type Impalemt (the bad kind)

Dogs are fine btw.

So how was the match then?

Well, my understanding is that it was - as we were all lined up on the Boards one waiting for you lot, til we got notice to join over at yours on 83.etc.

[they're only agreeing to a rematch because they're wanting a bigger win ticket-gap ]

Yeah Boards#6 were waiting on the TiG match server for 10 minutes or so until we realised that NRG were on their server

After the fact I didn't mind that the server was paused but it would have been better to let the other team know that it's going to be paused first. Also restarting it for 5 seconds just to see if everyone was ready was IMHO not 100% professional but it's all only for a laugh I suppose

The match was only paused during our match (team1) because iirc, scruff disconnected. Not like we paused for sh!ts and giggles.
As for the other match, i couldnt tell ya cause i wasnt there! Pauses are part and parcel of clan gaming, someone gets d/c'd you pause. Simple as.

And you should be greatful we paused it..i remember in some bfv matches people wouldnt pause the feckin servers for anything

It happened halfway through a big push from us, when we were capping a flag and pushing you back, and that kinda narked us, since we weren't aware of the reason at the time.

Pause server and either have someone join our side and tell us in VoIP or tell someone in the irc channel. We didn't mind that it was paused once we knew why, happy in fact, but not knowing for almost 60 seconds was a little much I thought.

the prob with the boards team 5 match was that we couldn't pause the bloody server, that would have made everything grand, Wavey got disconnected and Kdjac was goin crazy tryin to pause the server. Everyone on my squad thought we were playin a practice round then cos we only had 5 players and Zillah typed it in squad chat and i relayed the msg to the rest of the lads on TS that this was a practice.

Its only a game and to be honest the longer the game went on the better in my opinion as i enjoy playing the game, i don't care bout score (just look at my stats for ranked play), after all we have quite the losing streak.

I thought the NRG lads would have no problem playing again cos they were winning comfortably and would have cleaned up anyway even if we did restart

Ah fair point. Maybe we should all be in irc as a rule? So we all know whats happening. Was funny alright cuz you were in the middle of takin the office and i paused in mid air after flinging a frag your way...I took some rounds just before pause, So i had no idea if i was about to die or if my frag had hit you guys...turns out you took the flag and my frag missed

Yeah, it was a dodgy moment to pause it

I was trying to shoot you in the back as you threw the nade towards the 'office buildings'.

It was like an episode of LOST and having to wait until next week to find out what happened !

Most I can remember is being 'naded... and then a variety of full-auto implements once I got 'turned' as a sniper-on-the-move

EDIT - incidentally, and as it's been mentioned: teamspeak, I can install either on my BB-wired desktop (with which I play BF2) or on my BB-WiFi'd D600 (which I can use at same time), so... on the desktop or the lappie? Which solution would you recommend? Any benefits re.latency (processing or otherwise)?

As vegeta has already said the second match was on the TiG server

As for the rematch, hopefully get held on wednesday or thursday but i still have to talk to the Captain of boards #5 . Apologies for the Pause on our server in the first match but as already stated it was a player from your team that disconnected and we pasued to assist you guys. I think from now on someone from each team should have the others xfire as this seems the best way of in game communication. If we make this a point now to have every captains xfire for the duration of the infantry league. Mine is r0ot, NRG#2 Captain tjarn is NRG#1 Captain although i can be contacted for either team.

On a lighter note the round that we did play (well kinda) i had a fun ole time, even managed to knife a few people, and got kdjac t/k'd too. Most memorable moment was when i pistoled kdjac then i see this medic running to him who doesn't spot me and follow him and knife him just before he revived kdjac.

Also just after the matches last night had a few games with various members, first a few games of bfv with the 1st-IB lads and then some bf2 on the BTC server with a few btc and boards lads. Had good fun on both servers and was playfully accused of "l33t h4xor" skills on the BTC
