I never used to be superstitious when playing, with poker being a game of probability i know its stupid to think like that. Then i went on a really bad run of 9 STT's, changed the side of the table i always sit at for the 10 game and have been winning since so now i think im stuck there :D

    Anyone else have superstitions?

i'm a firm believer that people go through spells... i.e always hitting... always getting pockets... always losing on the river... in my limited experience these spells last for 4-5 weeks, and you cant do anything about them... but what is probably morelikely is that i'm rubbish at this poker thing.

I'm not superstitious at cards but I believe you can go on some savage runs, good or bad. The trick is to be in the game long enough to take advantage of a good run.

I don't like to have a massive stack early on as I can't play with it. But if I have a large stack late in a tourney I can bully with the best. I get a feeling of invincibility.

If I have a superstition it is having the best of it in an all-in situation. I console myself after I lose that it is a sign of a good player to be ahead when the cards are shown. Last two tourneys my KK v Q9 and QQ v 88 both lost.

I used to have a lucky kramer t-shirt the face of which then became my pokerstars avator. Turns out it wasn't so lucky in the long run. The only superstition I haven't gotten over by now is those feckin magpies... 2 for joy, 1 for sorrow, everytime.
