Im hopefully going to be going to trinity if the leaving cert goes to plan. Just wondering what it is like first going in and getting into the swing of things because it is a huge change from a school enviornment.

There's a sticky up the top of the forum with lots of links in it to stuff about tcd.

What's it like? Well, it's bigger than any school, there's no uniform and while, in theory, lectures are compulsory for first years most courses don't take a roll call or have sign in sheets. It's diverse, but there'll always be safety nets of 'friends just the same as me' if that's what you want to do. Guaranteed you'll latch onto the first person you meet in fresher's week who's doing your course, hang around with them for a few days and then spend the next 4 years avoiding them as you realise they drive you crazy.

Clubs and societies are where lots of people make friends and have fun, there's a link to the central societies committee up on the links thread.

But....don't be fretting about what trinity is like, i'm presuming your CAO form is in (and isn't the 1st July the deadline for changes of mind?). If going to colegel is what'll motivate you to get the study done, stick a postcard of trinity over your desk and get the revision done. Good luck with the exams.
