Waterproofing leathers

    Anybody any suggestion on how to waterproof leathers ? I need something that I can pic up around Dublin ??

    Tried those sprays but never found a solution that really works myself. The problem with leather as a material is that it is not generally "waterproof". Shower proof perhaps but not water proof. The sprays do not adequately block the pores in the leather, certainly not for a sustained period of time.

    I wear an ordinary set of rain bottoms over the bike trousers and a cycling jacket over the bike jacket. The added benifet is that these are far warmer than any inner linings in winter too. More visible too.

    Im not sure where you can get it though. I bought a tub in Clerys around 10 years ago and it did for several years.

    You can get a wax, that you rub into the leathers. I beleave millets or army bagins should have some.
