Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that the 2007 Japanese Grand Prix will be held at the Fuji International Speedway. The circuit has signed a multi year deal to host the Grand Prix on the track that is now owned by Toyota. Bernie has given suzuka a small life line, saying that their is a posibility of Japan hosting 2 Grand Prix's, with Suzuka hosting the "Pacific" or "Asian" grand prix.

Personally im disguisted, i think suzuka is a brilliant circuit and it will be a shame if it goes..... I think the Fuji track is no where near as good as Suzuka.

That is sickening. I loved Suzuka and thought it was right up there with the best tracks. Fuji does look interesting but I cant see it outdoing suzuka. There was word alright of holding two japanese gp's due to the fact that theres now three jap teams in F1. I cant see it happening though. They should throw hungary out on its ear and have two jap gp:)

Big shame losing Suzuka a very intertaining track. My most memorable moments been 1998 (ie Schumacher's fightback after engine stall) and of course 2000. But hopefully they will keep it as the Pacific GP this is one track that has to stay on the calander

Suzuks is a class track - Senna , Prost, twice, hee hee. It will be a shame to see it go. At least Spa is back on for 2007.

A crying shame. Fantastic track. Bah.

It is a load or cac.
I think they really should be thinking more about which tracks the worldwide "hardcore" fan like. Lose to many of these and the back bone of F1 support will fail. Shame, hockenhiem was ruined (personal opinion), Spa has not been supported as the treasure it is, Suzuka is the curent top circuit and now look at this. Next Silverstone and then Interlargos, then I'm off.

    (Excuse circuit spelling)

That's a fnckin' travesty! Suzuka is definitely in the top 3 circuits. ALWAYS an interesting race.

Can somebody please tell me how the Hungarian GP has not been ****ed far far away?!

I'd go so far as to say I hate that circuit. It's processional without the hazards of Monaco to make it interesting.

There must be some other country that will allow tobacco advertising?!

Suzuka has to be one of the most challenging, demanding and technical circuits on the calendar. Really shame to see it go. I would say it's one of the driver's favourites.

As kersh said though, at least Spa came back on the bill, even if its not the original multi-weather layout!

Fuji Speedway was changed a couple of years ago by Tilke so the long curves are gone now for more angular corners and a slow section before the straight. So now it's just another Tilke circuit.
Like everyone, I am not really convinced by this move away from suzuka. Suzuka and Spa (and maybe Turkey now) are the ones I really look forward to every year.
