my daughter has 2 goldfish with a yr, a gold coloured one and a yellow coloured one.
i noticed over the weekend that the yellow one has developed a big black spot on his head.

anybody know what this is? what should i do?

If the fish is new the black patches are a sign that your goldfish may be healing from handling. The black patches will vanish after the new goldfish is completely healed. Has the fish been handled recently?

On some fish patches are natural, but will disappear and the fish will become solid gold as they grow older. The black and white panda goldfish will also lose their black color as they grow old.
