Can this still be done or have drug dealers done away with the service?

The last time I'd to do this I had to ring them and add the account to my Internet Banking thingy. They were supposed to re-allow you to lodge cash into other accounts, but I don't think it has happened yet.

Are you sure? I've paid rent into my landlords account no problem when actually calling into the bank.

call into the branch and its no prob - over the phone call them and they'll do it or they can set it up on 24 hour banking for you

As long as you know the sort code and account number you can lodge money into anbodys bank account.

I know with AIB you can call them up with the details and they'll do the transfer there and then. Or you could quick lodge the cash, most banks offer this facility afaik

yep you certainly can, either call in person to an AIB branch or call their 24 hour banking telephone no.
give the sort code and account no.
    should be no problem

    Ooops, sorry, yes you're right.

I just have to ring them if I want to send funds via online banking. Calling into the bank, it's done no problems.

Well since the recent upgrade I can do it again myself from the website...

Under the "Transfer Money" menu on the left there's:
    - one off transfer
    - add account
    - delete account
    - update account

You need a "Code Card" from them (extra security check) but by clicking on any of the above you can order one there and then and they'll mail it out to you in a few days

    Actually

You can create your own reference for it and it appears on their bank statement uncensored...
It works even if you just transfer 10cent

Not giving you any ideas you understand :p

Sorry guys dont know if Im asking the same question but can I transfer money from an AIB account into a Bank of Ireland account (2 different account holders) without being there in person? On the phone or by internet banking?

Yes you can by nominating the BOI a/c.
You must ring them and I think theres a wait to set it up.
They can transfer it over the phone for you either from your account, but it will take a couple of working days to get there.

My mates do that all the time. I remember when I was organising a Stag's weekend for my mate, I was Best Man, so I booked all the flights, etc. on my credit card and when it came to getting the money back off them some of the sh1t they wrote was...eh....choice to say the least! Funny tho too.

I done it there last year, when I had to transfer money into one of my friends accounts (he's with BOI), so he told me his account number and sort code. I just registered with AIB 24hour and then transferred the money from my account no bother. If you feel safer, just ring up AIB 24hour and tell them you want to register a new account and tell them the account number and sort code, then you're good to go.

See there's only one flaw with this idea - and it's not that I don't trust you :D, it's that you assume I HAVE a couple of grand in the bank this close to payday! :p
