Well I was wondering what age are most of ye xbox gamers are,
and what are your earliest memory of playing a computer game, (games/system/year)

Personally, I am old enough to remeber the sinclar 16k, spectrum 48k etc.
I remember my first game (cos I wrote it with basic, was a pong sort of game)
Other than the the games I remember spending most time on were captain comic, and commander keen...damn those were sweet games :)

I hope the poll works for the age :)

    Am 22.

I started out with the C64 when I was 4, New Zealand Story was my first ever game that I played at home and I love it to this day. I do have earlier memories of playing Spy Hunter in Mosney too, class game. Went on to own 100s of commodore games(50p a game, ah the memories) before 'upgrading' to a gamegear, for which I owned Micro Machines and a lot of crap. Meanwhile the commodore still got regular use for a number of years even when I had newer consoles.

Went from there to a Megadrive which I liked, although it was really with the PS1(and my first PC around the same time) that I started to become a really big gamer, probably because it was around then that I was old enough to pay for my own games and magazines in particular. Previous consoles I pretty much played in a vacuum, relying on word of mouth from friends and often completely missing big games just because I didn't know about them.

Nowadays I'm up to date with everything, the good old internet sees to that. I still spend a fortune on games although to be honest I don't have as much time to actually play them as I used to unfortunately.

    I'm 21.
The first console that I owned myself was a Game Boy, an original brick one that I got for Christmas 1991. I played Tetris to death and beyond... I only ever owned 3 games for that system. I also played quite a lot of games on my uncle's SNES and Mega Drive when I was a kid, I completed Super Mario World in 3 months of Sunday visits to his house :) We finally got a SNES at home in 1994 and we had that for 4 years. I developed ninja-level Mario Kart skills at a young age!
From there... there was the infamous Christmas 1998 incident when I wanted a Nintendo 64 with Ocarina of Time, but my parents decided to buy me clothes instead, saying that it was "not girly to be still playing video games at 14, and you need to study for the Junior Cert anyway", and to add insult to injury they bought my brother a PS1, selling the SNES to part-fund it  I played quite a few of the PS1 games, but I didn't play half as many games in my mid-teens as I do now.
I started playing quite a few PC games at that stage, discovering that Rollercoaster Tycoon was crack! I got back to the promised land of Nintendo, with the purchase of a GBA to keep me sane on the buses in my first year in college. Got my GC a few months after that, my GBA SP in January 2004, my DS in February 2005, my Xbox and PS2 in 2005 as well. Along the way, I've re-acquired a SNES, and I've somehow managed to acquire 2 N64's (one working power cord between them though...).
Next on the list? Undecided between waiting for the Revolution, or getting either a PSP or an Xbox 360. Though the DS is about to have a stonking few months... :D

I'm 20 and my first gaming machine was a C64 though I remember playing a friends Amiga before I had a computer to call my own. My C64 lasted me for ages (still think I have it knocking around I think!) but I moved onto a SNES. From there went to the Ps1 and thats when the addiction really set in! I now own all of the consoles from this and the last generation, only problem is I never get time to play the bloody things.

I'm 21, been gaming since Rambo and Jet Set Willy on the C64, moved onto a SNES and a Game Boy when they came out (the cutting edge visuals on Super Mario World made me sick, I used to get motion sickness[/geek]), Moved on from a snes to an N64 on it's day of release, got my 120 stars in Mario 64, after that I got a ps2 on its release day, and got a Gamecube too

Currently playing my precious sexbox 360 and my psp

I'm 21. Having no older siblings, my first console was a SNES. My last console to get was an Xbox. The order inbetween is:

    SNES > PS1 > PS2 > GBC > GC > GBA > DC > GBA SP > N64 > DS > Xbox

Still have them all, except for the GBC which I traded in to get the GBA.

23, first started in the arcades on shoot'em ups, Konami and Capcom games. First console was C64. Wasn't too fond of it, always preferred the japanese consoles and Amiga but there were a few classics, spectrum also had better games. Turned into an arcade beat'em up and shoot'em up fiend for a while and spent hours on the SF2 machines in the airport and the local arcade. Next console was the original GB and a few years later got a MD. Next up was a PC and really got into PC gaming then and have kept it up ever since. Parents then got me a PS1 instear of a PC upgrade which was a great console. Move then to PS2 and shortly after release a Gamecube. Didn't get an xbox for a while since there wasn't anything on it that I couldn't play on my PC but couldn't ignore Ninja Gaiden and Panzer Dragoon Orta. I'm on a bit of a retro phase at the moment and have bought a Sega Saturn, Snes and N64 recently and am looking into getting a turbogfx 16/PCenigne and Dreamcast.

    I'm 26.
My first computer was an Oric Atmos which was cool, I got a book containing the code for 100 games with it but unfortunately the Atmos had a habit of freezing up when you typed 'list' to view the hundreds of lines of code that you had already typed so I'd have to start again. This meant that I developed a dislike of programming from an early age. The games were crap too but the machine had great soundfor it's day.
Went from that to an amstrad CPC6128 which had a built-in 2.5" discdrive and colour monitor and one of my favourite games, Head over Heels.
The big moment for us was getting an Amiga A500 which easily outclassed everything else we had seen. Games like turrican, frontier, settlers, speedball2, Kick Off2, Cannon Fodder, Lemmings, Worms, Supremacy, Sensible Soccer were played to death while my skin became translucent from lack of sunlight

Eventually I moved to an Amiga1 1200 with harddrive so playing all the SCUmm games becames easier, monkey island 1+2, beneath a steel sky etc but I do remember Flashback taking up a lot of time around then as well.

I'm an xbox fan nowadays especially since it will play all the amiga classics and snes, megadrive, nes, arcade, c64, spectrum, N64...etc..etc..

    I'm 25

First computer was a C64. Then an amiga 1200, (or somethig like that). The games that really got me hooked on computers were Monkey Island 1+2 and CIV.

Gameboy first which got stolen then waited until the GBA got launched, only console I've bought at launch that hasn't disappointed. Moved to a DS at launch and love it. Picked up a PSP recently but so far it's a huge disappointment other than Lumines.

You're showing your age there...microsoft rule??

In my day... ;) ....we used to have to walk over broken glass in our bare feet to switch off the microsoft windows pc after the blue screen of death appeared :)

I like the consoles but the company are the epitomy of pure corporate evil :D

jskinny_de, i remember that game, bit like donkey kong, had to climb ladders around the screen and collect bags of gold.
My favorites were matchday, target renegade, jetpack, and the great joystick breakers...daley thompsons decatholon.
I remember my brother would do anything to win, usually started with hitting the others joystick, then onto pulling out the joystick, then it went until blood was drawn.

Them were the days of multiplayer gaming, you couldn't abuse someone verbally like you can now, if you had have done that you'd have a dead arm and joystick wedged into your skull :)

The first gamining experience i remember having was pong! where ya used to paddles that had twisty knobs on em that plugged into the telly (think i still have that lying around too). after that was the spectrum then to the mega drive remember selling that 1 for £90 which i used to buy a gameboy, then for some reason i bought a commador amiga (chipped which i also still have and working) I really got to stop hanging onto stuff!!

I upgraded then to the Playstation then the ps2 (gave away at xmas to the brother so his little 4 year old could become a gamier :P he wasnt too happy , gamecube (still have bought just for zelda), and pc (still trying to perfect it :P),

Oh for the days of getting a major release in a small cardboard box for 10 pounds and a month later getting it on budget for 4 pounds. Most new games cost 4 pounds on release. And there was me two weeks ago shelling out 55 euro for Black and finishing it in four hours.

    now for the real deal.

Im 20. first console was a NES with mario(duh) then Zelda next. first game I finished too. had a few gems on that console and a few I wanted but my mam wouldnt buy em. bitch. Blue shadow being a favourite of mine and never managed to get my hands on snake rattle and roll, wrath of black manta or california games. have about 15 for it.

next was a gameboy. had loads of games for it and have owned nearly every nintendo handheld since although sayin that i didnt buy any of them near launch. all except the game boy color were bought when i started workin in game.

never had a snes unfortunately but played my mates loads. Zombies ate my neighbours or super tennis probably being my favourites.

Got and n64 when lylat wars came out and then I managed to avoid Goldeneye that christmas and went for the other Rare game Diddy Kong racing(i challenge you!!!!). have a load of games for the n64 incl. goldeneye, both zeldas, resi 2, conker, banjo.......

I went off games towards the end of the n64s lifespan and didnt bother with a ps2 xbox or gamecube..... until I saw the wind waker. I had to have it. so went and got a zelda gamecube pack. about 28 games for my gamecube i think.

once i started to work in game i picked up the xbox and ps2 second hand with staff discount:D

If the xbox didnt have xbox live i dont think it would be the better machine at all but it was.

    now i have a 360 too. want a ps3 and revolution.

Long story short. dont get a job in GAME. They may pay you for working but you end up blowing it all and giving it straight back to them

I've got a 8 year old son - twas a great excuse to get a Xbox360 for Christmas (the missus thought I got it for him!). Needless to say he is much, much better than me!

    20 and a half.

When I was only a baba I remember playing on a Colecovision - first games I played was Ladybug (a pacman clone), Ventures and Donkey Kong.

At some stage, my older brother got an Amstrad, and I can remember playing Thundercats and other stuff on that. One of my mates had an Atari and we used to play seasons of Premier Manager on that in one sitting.

My first console was the Megadrive, and I played Sonic, Street Fighter and X-Men religiously on that. My favourite games though were the Micro Machines series, and probably still are today!

And on from there it went, until I eventually owned, at one stage or another, a PS1, N64, Saturn, GBA, SP, DS, PSP Dreamcast, SNES, PS2, GameCube and XBOX.

    32 (yea getting old)

First the Commodore 64 moved on to BBC Micro, (anyone remember 'LOGO'?) then Amstrad 128k all the way past the NES, Snes and Megadrive, Mega CD to GB, SGG (Sega game gear- ah the colour screen) on to PS1, GBC, GBA, Xbox and now the newest toy, the Xbox 360.

(not 100% sure about time line order it's so long ago...)

Loved gaming all my life from the time we devoted a week to write the code ourselves to get those extra lives to the first fully 3d games was 'so real man' to us at the time. when I have time away from work or running web/boards sites I can be found playing away to my hearts content in a game from yesteryear or something bang up to date.

Looking forward to new Tomb Raider and Far Cry games (both on 360)

Lol on Xbox live I get told i'm too old to be gaming but happy to read in this thread i'm not alone :)

Ah LOGO!! They made us learn that in primary school. If you could draw a small house i.e box with a triangle on top, you had it mastered. Remeber the adventure that was Granny's Garden?

You're never too old to play. Anybody who tells you otherwise on Live is probably between 8 - 18. ;)
