Anyone make it out to the Short course today???

Two good races, Women's race was won by Orla O'Mahony of Raheny with Linda Byre of DSD 2nd. Raheny won the gold medal.

The mens race was exiciting with Paul McNamara of GCH just nicking it from Mick Clohessy of Raheny in the last 200 meters or so. Just behind them was Mark Kirwan of Raheny. Raheny took the gold medal in the men's with Liam O'Halloran 5th and Ian Cheney 8th. So very strong running from the shamrock's.

Two weeks ago Vinny Mulvey became the first Raheny man to win the long course. Today was the first time raheny had two indiviual's medalist's in a senior national C\C.

Anyone know what the future of this event is? Surely it should be kept going? They do not pick anyone for the WorldX for the last two years, so even though its no longer an international surely they should keep it going. How about a master's event is added to the card as well??

Paul McNamara is a member of Athenry AC [ used to be a member of GCH years ago].

    Well Done Paul!
