    Ruling the world.....

    * 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
    * 7 have been arrested for fraud
    * 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
    * 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
    * 3 have done time for assault
    * 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
    * 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
    * 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
    * 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
    * 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year...

Can you guess which organisation this is?
    Give up yet?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

I wouldn't like to see the number for that for the Dail. The universe could possibly implode when you wrote it down.

oh wait.. they don't get arrested do they?

Probably the only unusual statistic for a random bunch of over 500 people is the number that have bankrupted at least 2 buisinesses. The rest of it would probably not be too far off the numbers that you'd get from quizzing a bunch of random blokes walking down the street.

Yes however they are not random blokes walking down the street.. they are people running the most power country in the world!!

These were posted a few times last year at least. So if 84 were arrested for drink driving teh last year or two, they must be the same 84 that were arrested in the last year up to now.

how do you indirectly bankrupt a business?

for example there was this bloke who sold really cheap jewellery in england and was making massive profits. he was giving a class on why he was so successful and he called the stuff "crap" and was bankrupt in a few months. thats how you indirectly bankrupt a business :)

Best thread in ages? Oi. ?!!

Tis a marvelous thing that Ireland's politicians are singularly known for their universal chastity, honesty, and sobriety.

    Only in America indeed.
