Heading over to the states next week and I basically having trouble deciding which MP3 player to buy. I'm basically looking for peoples opinion's on the following Mp3 players:
Iaudio Xl5 30GB- first choice at the moment as it is easy to transfer music to and the battery life would be great, also has good reviews with regard to sound and performance, plus it reminds me of the Iriver H120
Iaudio X5 60GB- see above, but only 14 hour battery life but could double up as a portable storage device.
Creative Z M 30gb- I currently have the 20gb sleek which I like due to the battery and general sturdiness of the machine, plus it has never caused me any problems. This looks to be the most stylish of the 4 but is left down by a rather average battery life.
Ipod 60GB photo/video- looks nice, 20 hour battery life and I would be a sheep. This might be a decent compromise between the iaudios long battery life and feature and the style of the Zen M

    Any thoughts appreciated.

20 hours battery life on the iPod? I doubt that somehow.

I'd go for any of the above to be honest, except for the iPod.

I had a 30GB X5L before - the extra battery life didn't make much difference to me as I charged it every evening anyway. If pushed to choose now, I'd go for the 60GB X5 for the extra storage.

i dunno id normally say anything creative shold be first chice but after using the new version of media source im not so sure now, its a pure balls to organise my music at the moment and noone seems to know how to revert it back.

Yeah - I have a friend with the iPod -- using the interface overly, or watching videos drains the juice pretty fast, realisticly I'm told no more than 12 hours out of the 60GB, and 8 out of the 30GB.

I have an iAudio X5L and while the battery life is great, as is the build quality, its a complete bitch to use, the dock's really annoying, it's gimmiky and the video playback is crap. The Rio Karma was a far nicer player to use, but you can't get them any more :(

If I had to pick from those 4, I'd go for the iPod, unless you want the battery life. If not, the iAudio is the way forward.

However, if you want something cheap and nice to use for a good price, and you're not worried about video playback, I strongly recommend the Archos Gmini http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=3&products_id=1124

Well it just depends where your priorities lie really.
    Battery: x5L
    Storage: ^ 60gig
    Video: Zen vision M

Well I'm more interested in battery performance as oppossed to video as I already have a psp which I can use for that. I'll probably go with the xl5 or the zen m. Thanks for your help.

Ive got an X5 60 and i have to say its a great piece of kit, i use it every day travelling in and out of town on the bus and id get away with charging it once a week, looks-wise i like it, looks pretty slick, although it is a bit fat, but thats the sacrifice i made for the extra storage space (which i do use), the video playback is not a good as the ipod but for what it is its acceptable, i barely use it for this anyway, just music really.

My brother has a 30gig ipod video and i had some pics i took to compare the size of them, keep in mind its a 30 gig ipod and 60gig X5 so its going to be alot fatter. anyway heres the pics for anyone interested.....

I'm getting about 20 hours or so out of my 60GB ipod, I have it on all day in work and usually get about three days out of it between charges. There's about 8 hours of charge left when the indicator turns red. Using the interface does burn the battery but when you just leave it playing it keeps on going.
