    Leicester 14:20 - Class 4 Handicap Chase

Feel we need look no further than Hawk's Landing here, R Johnson onboard & he's on good form recently. Horse 2nd in his last 2 out & one of those was in a class 3 race where he was beaten by Timmy Murphy on Yes My Lord (1L) who had a little weight on him & really is an improving horse. Top weight shouldn't be a problem over this distance (i always feel top weight means less of a factor over a good distance).

Jack Fuller has already beaten Bay Island & should go off easy 2nd fav but I think the weights will catch him out quickly so I am going to stick with Hawk's Landing & back on early prices as I suspect he will be backed in further (hopefully I'm right!)

    Sandown 2:40

Alphabetical absolutely hacked up last time out. Despite making a hash of the final fence he went on to win by 17 lengths. 19 lengths behind him was the useful Harris Bay who has since gone on to frank the form in beating three useful types in Dungarvan's choice, Desailly and Rubberdubber(winner again since). This was in a better race to the one Alphabetical contests today. Running off a much higher mark today but this one is definitely an improver. RP dismiss the horse because of the trainer's recent form but Fandani seemed to be travelling smoothly before falling at the last in Newbury last weekend.

Currently 2nd favourite, I think Alphabetical represents good value against the fav, Bannister Lane who I think would prefer further.

Smells like a double bet to me!

Throw in these two for some doubles and trebles from 4:

    Inca Trail:
Won a lovely tigh contest a fortnight ago. Snowdon did a great job in seeing him hold on. (Evens)

    Wee Anthony
Won last race and McCoy is up today, early money for him too. (9/4)

Ouch! A 9/1 shot wins from Bay Island with mine back in 3rd, never challenged, looks like it needs the extra distance, why on earth do they run the @ shorter distance than optimal, Better luck with your selections lads.

AYR 3:35.i think that MORGAN BE is a super horse and is nearly a banker here.everytime i have saw him run he looked excellent and i think this race is perfect for him.perfect distance and the opposition is very weak and i personly think this is a banker.and he was forecasted at 11/4 not sure what price he is now.

I have been trying hard to choose between Oracle de Mottes and First Love(NAP) in the 4.25 at Sandown, but the latter finally gets my vote. First love beat a decent horse in my opion - 'Cracking Dawn' last time out by a length, and Hendersons yard are not the worst right now. Although it is not a huge amount of races to go on, Snowdens record of 7 wins out of 15 at Sandown is fairly impressive. The horse is also proven on this course and on this distance too. But as I said, Oracle de Mottes is looking good also, and is a danger here in my opinoin. I think these two are the only ones in with a shout, and even though there are only two places, Im going to go all out on this one!! :)

    Bets:

First Love to win @ 2.56
Oracle de Mottes to be placed @ 1.57

Just going by the betfair market here, but I't looks like he got it. Good call

My first yankee in months. €6 yankee on:

    Inca Trail
    Kipsigis
    First Love
    Sargasso Sea

returns over €600 and its 2 out of 2 so far. Could have been a lot more if I didn't take the odds.

A Nice race for me there in what was otherwise a dull gambling day.

    Well played all.

Morgan Be did look the banker of the day, especially in light of his second to According to John who won yesterday. Pity I didn't even see he was running

Yep. :) I'm not really knowledgable on the horses (I just look at all the sites and know the basics) so I took early prices on 3 of the horses. If I didn't take the early prices I'd have got over €1k back but I'm happy. Sargasso Sea was the easiest win I've had in a while. I'm into the final of a novelty head to head competition on a Celtic forum out of 36 people so even though I wouldn't know as much about the horses as most on here, following the tips still gets you far. :)

hehe, cheers. :) Just for future reference, should I not take early prices for odds ons? Every one of the horses I backed drifted in the odds today. First Love was the worst, got it at evens. Today was a good day for the favourites.

Generally at meetings where the crowds are low (for instance Ireland midweek and weeks before big meetings like Cheltenham) a lot of favourites will drift as Bookmakers try and entice some custom. It's frustrating when they drift like that (this coming from a man who was on Raregem at 1-2 yesterday) but when you've taken a price and he's hammered off the boards, well..that's a nice feeling. The old question "when is a winner not a winner" was answered before your very eyes today eirebhoy. It's frustrating but hey...you made a nice profit.
