Just wondering what kind of fuel consumption you guys are getting. Mine is below, what do you think?

    - 100 miles for €20 of Unleaded 95 (104.9c/litre)
    - 1.5 Almera
    - City Driving

Most I recorded was 580 miles from a full tank, approx €53. Usually not much lower than that.

    Thats

    - 100 miles for €9.13 of diesel (103.9c/litre)
    - VW Golf 1.9 SDI
    - Mostly motorway driving, 15% city.

Changing to a TDI, think I'll get even more mileage.

    1.4 ibiza

average 320miles to a tank, cost €40 or less.

Either city driving or heavy footed country ;)

I always fill my petrol tank and record the data so I know mpg
    http://bussched.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/mileage_list.cgi

    2001 VW Golf 1.4
Max 47.7 mpg, min 30.7 mpg, average 38.7 mpg (over 5 years).
    100 miles for €20 of Unleaded 95 (104.9c/litre)
Only 5.25 miles/litre, 23.8 mpg, if I've done my calculations correctly.

    00 Focus 1.6
Generally fill up with 46 - 48 litres.
Mixed driving: 350 miles. Open road: 500 miles.

Depends. If it's the car, around 12-14 mpg I guess, and if it's the bike, I suppose 17? I'm one of those people who couldn't give a damn about mpg's, I enjoy driving.

Next addition to the fleet I'm getting apparently does around 10. That oughta be fun :-)

Current Car is a MINI Cooper S, it's capable of 36mpg, but not when the supercharger's on song, and the bike's a Blackbird. Next car's an 850. Scrumdidlyumptious.

2003 Megane 1.6 auto 31.6mpg this week. Can go up to around 40 on a long run.

    300 miles from a €40 fill up in my 02 1.4 Golf
Works at around 35-40mpg mostly - unless on motorways, it starts to guzzle a bit of juice over 3500rpm. Not great when ya do big mileage (have it 2 months - done 5200 miles) Wanted a diesel but insurance company didn't:(

My main car is a 1998 Passat TDi 90bhp:

Full Tank ~€50: Average 560 miles, Best 660 miles.
Normally get around 56mpg, really hard driving returns 50mpg.
Mostly driven on motorway at ~85mph.

Focus 1.6 TDCI Zetec. 40mpg around town and up to 60 mpg on a longer run.

Now sold, and being replaced by a new Focus ST, which will be quite thirsty I'd imagine.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 346 ✭✭Cassiel

using the mpg on the tripmeter (accurate?)
300 miles between fills - 210 of which m'way, the rest short runs = just over 50 mpg
best i've seen is from after a m'way run @ 57 mpg. 1338cc Honda Jazz -petrol - all at road legal speeds - its a 1.4, pointless driving the crap out of it.

The bike, Honda CB 600 will get 50 mpg ridden properly - gear changes @ 6000rpm.
or about 38 mpg redlining her - so mostly 38 mpg then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,722 ✭✭✭maidhc

    Focus 1.8 TDCi 115ps

    550/600 miles to a tank of 52l.
    About 70% on regional roads

Subaru impreza WRX (2 litre turbo)

90% of the kilometres I do are on the motorway at 120-130 km per hour. Obviously I do a fair bit of hard enough driving as well.

€50 usually equates to 270 miles (430 km approx)

    Honda Civic 1.6 VTi.

    City Driving 24 mpg (eek!)
Country Driving best I've gotten was 41mpg
Do you reckon there is something wrong? I don't drive the car hard.

It all depends on how much time you spend sitting at lights.

97 Honda Accord 2.2i Vtech. Seem to be getting about 345 mile to 53 litres of petrol. Country driving. So roughly about 30mpg per my calculations.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,146 ✭✭✭PaddyFagan

1.6 FSI Golf Plus - doing about 8 l/100km (trip computer) thats about 30 mpg, mainly city driving.

Still only 2000km in the clock, once I've run her in a bit more, I'll do some manually calculations and see how good it really is.

Put another way, the last fill up cost €52 (@ 104.9) and I'll cover about 600 km covered before I fill her up again.

    Peugeot 607 2.2 HDi SE

Outside of town on long journeys I'll get 48mpg and on my combined cycle, town and country, I'll get 43mpg which is pretty good for a big car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,399 ✭✭✭kluivert

    4.544

    1999 Opel Astra 83k

325 miles between fills, each fill is about 38 litres which is 8.227 gallons.

So that works out around 39.5 mpg.

Mixed - town and rural driving.

2003 CLK200 Kompressor, over the last 2 1/2 years it has averaged 34.5MPG, mainly around secondary roads, then the odd mix of traffic & motorways so I'd say thats a pretty good indication of its MPG !

Happy enough, though my last car a 2001 C200K was a 6speed manual and it was a bit better at about 38.5MPG over the 2 years I owned it !
