The idea of the erasmus is to go to a foreign country and attend college there. Learn a language and come back a better person basically :D

Don't know if this will help much but my sis went on erasmus to Japan for three months. Absolutely loved it. Decided to go back when she finished college cuz she loved it so much. She went with two friends who also had a fantastic time and one of them decided to stay on for the year cuz it was so much fun. I can put you in contact with her if it helps like

As far as i know it under a diferrent name if you go outside the EU, however its basically the same and you get more of a grant :) ... cant be bad! :D
