Or check the dental board here. That sounds very much like a ROI price; the UK dentists are supposed to be way cheaper than over here. Considering a trip up to Norn Iron myself for something similar.

Edit: Just found this site on google:

    Edit again:
the Kreativ link is excellent. Porcelain veneer is €265.00. Was quoted €600 over here.

You are getting a body part implanted which you hope will last you a lifetime and are shopping around like it`s an item of clothing. Not every implant is the same, not everyone placing them has the same success rate and not every one will look as good or last as long. If there is a problem do you want to have to travel hundreds or thousands of miles to get it fixed? Do you want your dentist to put the cheapest implant and crown in your mouth or the best one available. If you were getting a new heart/ leg/ arm/ face would you also loook for the cheapest?? I would think that price is the least important thing on something this important. If you get a cheapo implant for €1000 and it lasts 5 years or one for €3000 that lasts a lifetime which would you go for.

If a dentist is really cheap he has to cut corners somewhere, either he uses a less expensive metal for the crown, a less expensive implant that isn`t FDA approved or properly researched and tested or he rushes the job to get it over asap. If I was getting an implant I would do a bt more research than price. Save money on other things, get the best for your body...

Strongly agree :). Talking from experiance as a dentist do not get cheap implants. Dentures maybe cause you can take these out...but when implants go wrong its a real mess. Get somebody who really knows what they are doing. Universally these people charge fro expertise. If you can afford it think of the Dublin Dental Hospital.

At some point along the way the question of price has to come up .It may be 500 or 5000 euro but the question still has to be asked.
Can tax be reclaimed and if so this would make a big difference.
How long should the whole thing take from first contact to having tooth fitted.
Can Joe Public have this work done in Dublin Dental School.
    Look forward to replies.
(was away for awhile hense no follow up)

Just saw the spelling in my last post....I must have been drunk...my god. Implants are tax deductable as are the crowns which go on top of them. Your right it can make a big difference. If you had the implant placed today you would have your final crown in about 4 months....sometimes a temporary crown can be put on the implant straight away but it depends on what your quality of jaw bone is like. Yes the dental hospital serves anyone...best to get a referal letter. However while the hospital is about half the price of private practice the waiting lists are a lot longer.

Very much depends on where and what needs doing, i'm getting a front tooth replaced thats a three stage process - two bio-oss ops plus implantation then eventual crowning, believe me its costing a LOT more that the figure you have quoted, but its nothing compaired to a life of slurred speech or horrible dentures (had them made and cannot tolerate the feeling of them at all).

Think the access link updated to http://www.access-smile.ie - seems very reasonable

Had treatment there, it was an absolute nightmare, please don't use this clinic...

    Here's my story:

I have known Kreative dental for the past 5 years & visited surgery way back when it was located over the mechanics garage… I travelled to your surgery this April to fix some lower front bridge work I wasn’t happy with. Kreative dentists informed me they couldn’t fix the bridge work immediately but I should consider an implant to the lower left mandible. I was very apprehensive about the procedure but after some encouraging remarks from the implantologist & dentist I decided to go ahead with the CT scan & eventual implant. I was under the impression at this stage that all work was guaranteed & in the unlikely event of anything going wrong I would be flown out to Budapest by Kreative to check the work. Nobody specifically pointed out to me that if something were to go wrong I would only receive 50% refund. If I had known this at the time, I wouldn’t have gone ahead with the procedure.

It was about three months after the implant that I started to experience problems, the implant area swelled up, so I visited Dublin Dental Hospital who prescribed antibiotics advising that this should clear up the infection. Unfortunately the swelling came back, I was prescribed more antibiotics & booked my flight to come back to see Kreative. After opening a flap in my gum the implantologist informed me that the implant had failed giving no specific reason & that it would be better to remove implant. The implant wouldn’t come out easily & the implantologist had to drill into either side of my jaw bone to remove the implant which was extremely uncomfortable.

I have now been informed that I will only receive 50% of what I originally paid for the implant which I find totally unacceptable. After all the time, effort, patience & cost I’ve invested. I feel I have been mislead into believing that the Kreative dental work is guaranteed when it clearly isn’t.

    ---

It's a scam, if anything goes wrong they won't pay for your travel back to Budapest or for your accomadation and you'll only get 50% of your treatment cost back... What a joke..
