I informally agreed to work for a relatively small, regional accountancy firm.

Tommorow I have to go and discuss terms and I'm just a little unsure as to what I should expect.

He basically said that pay would be initially 16-17000 annualy. But in terms of hours, study leave and the paying of accountancy fees I don't know what I will be offered and I'm not sure whats typically offered. So any advice on this would be great. I'm almost 100% sure that everything will go fine but a little bit of info. on this would do me no harm so I'll at least have some input when we are discussing it.

Is it chartered cos it really depends.

A week off per subject is the norm though for chartered. Plus regular 20days annual holidays that everyone gets.

Wage seems about right.I know people on a lot less!!

Hours will almost definitely be 9 - 5 or 9 - 5.30. 16-17k is pretty standard I'd say, the Big 4 regoinal offices pay circa 18k, so that would largely be the max. There is a minimum study leave set out by the Chartered Institute, and they'll almost definitely reimburse your exam fees provided you pass first time. Most firms are pretty similar!
