Could someone recommend a good gaming mousepad to use with Logitech G5 Laser mouse.

    Preferably available from Komplett

    Cheers,

mousepads are overrated dont go splashing out.

What i did was get the kinda wooly surfaced ones, you know the kind, cloth type, then stuck a smooth hard plastic one on top so i have a hard topped pad that is thick and comfortable and elts the mouse glide.

The G5 is optical so your best bet is probably a hard plastic mat to let the gliders slide over.

jesus christ..the rubbish that some cheapo's come out with..the G5 is a laser gaming laser mouse..the fact that you've bought the G5 means you are probably a gamer who needs a comfortable mousepad at all times...

the icemat gets great reviews..read through them and decide if this is the one for you

the steelpad also get great reviews..

Razer products are very good as well but you might want to check their site directly as I think they have a new one out..
should be no prob with the G5 laser as their Copperhead mouse is laser as well..

best type of mousepad is a heavy mouse that doesn't slide all over the place..I know the Icemat is fairly heavy but also that laser doesn't reflect properly on these mats which probably discounts this..logitech brought out a firmware update to counter this but not sure how successful it was..

If you want to go with plastic mousepad...

Go with fUnc 1030, it's awesome! probably the best plastic mousepad out there,

Alienware sells them for a really low price
    http://www.alienware.co.uk/GearShop_Pages/Gear_Shop_Detail.aspx?ItemId=11333&CatId=1088

Or if you want more softer cloth feel
go with Qpad mousepads, kustompcs.co.uk sells them

I changed from func to qpad and I love it! does not require as much attention as plastic mousepads(they usually get dirty quite fast), feels softer, does not lose any precision. The only negative thing I can say about Qpad is that I don't like their texturing, I'd prefer a more solid colour like black or dark blue, instead of the crap that's painted on it.

Icemat is great too, very nice glide but, it's cold in winter, and makes a very scratchy sound if you don't use the right mousepads.

    G5 + HyperGlide mouse feet + QPad = Headshots! :D

    From Logitech:

"Many gamers use a mouse pad to get the best performance from the mouse. However, most of the (gaming) mouse pads currently on the market are optimized and designed for optical mice. The optimal tracking surface for Logitech’s gaming-grade laser is different from that of optical (and even performance laser) mice. Because of this, we anticipate that mouse pad companies will begin designing pads for the new laser mice that are coming onto the market. Until that time, we recommend that gamers use the G5 and G7 on light, semi-reflective surfaces that have an irregular pattern. Gamers should avoid matte or very high gloss finishes.

A sample of tested mouse pads which work very well:

ALLSOP Raindrop / ALLSOP Giga Pad XL STEEL
    Corepad / Corepad Magna
    EYEpad
    Fatal1ty Pad
    Everglide Titan
    FUnc F-Series f10.s
    FUnc F-Series f30.r
    Ratpadz Ratpad GS
    "

i have the G5 and i use the Corepad Victory ( from Komplett.ie ) with it, its works lovely.
also do not buy the icemat for use with the G5, as it wont work on it being a laser mouse rather than an optical mouse

Razer Exactmat all the way:D Just got one a few days ago and notice a big difference. I have a Logitech mx518 gaming mouse almost identical to yours so it should be perfect. If you are a serious gamer buy a decent mousepad. Expensive but worth it, my accuracy has gone up quite a bit tbh, pulling off shots i couldnt do on my old mousepad:)
