About the recent story concerning some poll about Sharia law in the UK.

They had gotten two speakers, one of which was a female muslim lawyer and not entirely sure who the other guy was.

Anyway the interviewer kept harping on about how it shouldn't be allowed in the UK. The lawyer pointed out that it already was, but UK law takes presidence in all matters. It is used as a way to settle agreements before it is escalated and always follows the law of the lands.

Then the interviewer went on about stoning for adultry. Both speakers said that such an action is against Muslim/Sharia laws and certainly wouldn't happen in the UK as again the UK law takes precedence. He took another incident and again the same answer.

The interviewer went on a bit more and both speakers put him in his place.

The lawyer discussed it very well explaining in her position if she was to be in a country like Nigeria should would be forced to do a number of things but even though she doesn't do them here doesn't mean she is any less a muslim and like all faiths they evolve.

They both also pointed out that the poll was flawed in its question.

It was a good discussion and helped dispell a lot of the myths that people spout.

.... Until this morning I watch the same news article and they basically removed anything they had learnt from the previous day.
