I wanted to get rid of the hair on the back of my shoulders ,but someone told me waxing can cause ingrown hairs.
I used veet for men last night ,but it still doesn't feel the way i want it.
Anyone know where a bloke can go to get just the shoulders waxed without feeling like an imposter and is waxing safe??

yeah, waxing is safe, you think women would get brazillian's if it wasn't
there are plenty of places that do male waxing, anywhere that does it for females will prob do it for you. www.urbanwax.ie are waxing specialists and have even a section on their price lists for men so im assuming they can deal with it.
yes you can get ingrown hairs, but that can happen with shaving too. proper aftercare will minimise them, they aren't that unpleasant anyway.

I would go for the waxing perfectly safe. I get just about everywhere waxed and have never gotten an ingrown hair.

It's acceptable for men to be looking after themselves so they would be well used to having men in in the salon incase you were worrying about that

Can't get that urbanwax site to work
I will probably have to wait a couple of weeks for the hairs to grow back ,it feels like a really bad shave at the moment after that veet stuff.
    I found the site urbanwax.com

Waxing is the way to go.

Also, check out www.brazilia.ie I got waxed there recently and have nothing but good things to say about them. If you do decide to go to them ring them up before you go for instructions on how to get there as the map on the website is incorrect. They're in the process of changing it.

Waxing is definatly the best option!! It will last the longest unless you want to get laser hair removal but that will cost you a bit!!
I don't know how anyone uses those hair removal creams... they are horrible!! Shaving is bad because the hair grows back much thicker, your best to stick with waxing!

I was thinking of getting it done also, prob a full body or at the waist down as I'm hairy up above.

Whats the story with pain? I imagine it kills.

I was just curios, since I've never been waxed before, I'd guess there is a certain elemnet of pain.

Take a handfull of hair in your grip and rip it out, then you'll know what it feels like ;)

Oh its worth noting, that you should get it done a couple of days in advance of a date or whatever as your skin will be bright red for a time (never been waxed myself but seen other people do it) :)

Laser hair removal is much more effective than waxing (and a lot more expensive!!)

    Sounds rough!

Is it just the back dudes get done or is the chest recommendable too!! Does it not get all stubbly? How long til you have to get it done again?

Make sure you exfoliate for a few days before the waxing and again when the hair is growing back - less chance of getting ingrown hairs.

I get my waxing done from Stephen Thomas, He has a clinic exclusively for men in Temple Bar on Dame street. All his treatments are for men and I also get my Back, sack and crack done there too. He is really friendly and the treatment cost is pretty reasonable. Give him a shout on 01 6729444 or email him on faceandbodyclinic@eircom.net.
