    Hi,
This is not for me it is for my friend, but anyway he is having a problem with Norton. He has paid for his update, and has started to download it. But he says it is coming up with something to do with proxy settings. Does anyone know what could be wrong? And what can he do to fix it? He is using XP.
    Thanks in advance.

Has he the correct proxy settings on? Does he need proxy settings (ie: would Use my internet default options not work)?

Come back when you get a proper error message?

Does his internet connection work properly? What version is he using?

He is using the latest IE version. It just comes up about his proxy settings and he can't download the file.

My psychic powers tell me he has either been playing with settings and needs to change them back to using the internet defaults, or his firewall is blocking it going out.

Has he had this trouble long? Can we actually get full text of the error off him at all, at all?

    Hi,
I used to work for the Norton Techical Support Team in Dublin ok di you get a lu error message it should look like lu1234 if you get this message i can solve you issue. Norton itself is a bad product very badly written.

Yeah I was just on to him and it was something to that nature. Sorry he is out of the house so I can't ring him up.
