...what the hell is the frequency? Normally it's 97.3, but Belfield FM are there. Hell, Belfield FM even bother to update their site... mediaproductionsoc's website mentions nothing about it. That society is a joke this year.

I think it's only online this year. MPS is usually a great society - I'm surpried that they don't have some info up on the site.

Yeah ffs, checked it up overnight... no licence to broadcast, no rights to stream online... christ almighty, all they've got is the Hub. Dreadfully disappointing...

I don't mean to toot the UCD horn but, er, here's how it should be done: http://www.belfieldfm.ie .

Damn right MPS won't be winning a thing this year - and rightly so.

    They suck the cock tbh.

Ive heard maybe 3 good songs all week and ive been in the hub for a good bit of the week so far. We should just lock dregin in the place and let him put on some fine jazz tunes.

Also, they have one speaker out the window which is like .... stupidly loud and distored so you can barly make anything out.

i'm not even sure if they're speaking english

They're just plain offensive. And they really are only talking to people *IN* the hub. And they are the last people who need to hear, cuz generally speaking they're people who're active and know whats going on.

They literally only have a speaker sticking out a window...

    Silly tbh.

And they seem to think that playing bad music as loud as they can will somehow make it sound good.

    from what I gather:

Real Licence: Someone forgot / didnt bother to apply for it this year.

Online Streaming: Someone forgot / didnt bother to get the network port in that room enabled.

Using the real hub PA system instead of that crappy speaker: This one is tricky, from what i've heard the SU use it sometimes, so it works, and the equipment for it is in Shay's office. I'd put money on them simply forgetting to ask if they could use it, but maybe they just weren't allowed.

    That's just my €0.02.

rbradio podcasts are far better tho, in all fairness :)

And that's why I'm so pissed off at MPS. As someone who has worked in sound engineering since I was eleven, and been doing online radio since I was 14 (yeah, a good two years before every man and his dog) and then working in legal radio since 16, I had a great deal to offer them. Sent off two e-mails putting myself forward to do any number of jobs and - what do I get? No replies. Kinda glad the station is rotting now. Schadenfreude? Sure, but that'll do me fine.

Sometimes NoelRock, certain societies just plain and simple, dont use/check/reply to their email, for any number of reasons!

You should go to an AGM/EGM and get talking to them. I knwo the Chair is very nice and approachable. Give them another chance outside of some emails!

    Though, they're **** atm, agreed!

Well, they sent out a webcast link today, on the last day...better late than never! Except it doesn't work.
