Great to see Six Shooter win the oscar.

I heard there was a site somewhere showing all of the short films up for the oscar ( Best Short Film, Live Action )

Anyone know what the link is...

Looks like it was broadcast on Channel 4, could be up on their site somewhere. I've looked around to no avail.

Apparently it's available through iTunes for €1.99.

Any body know if it'll be shown again on RTE at all over the next few days.
Or if anyone know a wbsite you can download it from.

the young fella with the speciality in acting mad! got stopped by immigration at lax from going to oscars for overstaying a work visa 9 years ago, he was on joe duffy describing it, he said it was unpleasant and he was disappoined but ya know

Yeah.. recognised Rúaidhrí Conroy alright - shame he didn't make it to The Oscars. Said "he was treated like a criminal" while waiting in LAX.

Oh.. and for those who you who recognise him but can't think where, he was recently in the RTE's drama 'Stardust' and of course was Tito in 'Into The West'

EDIT: And for all those who missed it on RTE2 on Sunday night (should've been promoted more by RTE!).. it's on Channel 4 this Thursday at 12:05am:

Was the guy that played the woman on the trains husband the same guy that was in the movie Intermission? I always liked him in that movie, but hadn't really seen him in much else...

David Wilmot's his name. He's in that new Irish soccer film Studs which is out in a few weeks.

Incidentally I think the young guy selling crisps on the train in Six Shooter is Brendan Gleeson's son.

For what it's worth I thought Six Shooter was excellent, really funny and a great turn from Conroy as the young fellah.

Watched it on RTE the other night, mildly amusing little fable.Nearly choked on me noodles the next evening when i heard it had won the oscar!
Great for the industry here but jesus was that really the best short film submitted to the oscars?!

The short was awful. The acting was terrible and the dialogue was jaded. It was a nice concept but it was badly executed. It just shows you that the oscars is all about lobbying.

Man if you hated that short I recommend you steer clear of pretty much every other short that was made in Ireland in the past five years or so.

Its a pity Channel 4 and especially RTE didn't promote it more. I only came across it by accident. Thought it was worth watch & delighted to see it won an oscar; Brendan Gleeson deserved some more international recognition. :)

Excellent.. had quite high expectations for this and it delivered on them!!

Playboy.. how you thought the acting and dialogue were poor is beyond me? The acting from Brendan and Rúaidhrí were excellent and the dialogue was some of the most refreshing and funny dialogue for an Irish production in a long long time!

The only thing i really didn't like about the film was the last line of dialogue along the lines of
"what a feckin' bad day!" - that line at the end of a film has became a bit of a cliché and i was actually expecting something like it to be said - but was hoping it wouldn't!

But a clear 9 / 10 for fantastic performances (especially Rúaidhrí Conroy and Brendan Gleeson) and excellent dialogue.

I saw the movie a few months ago - it had been aired previously.

Was it supposed to be a black comedy or something? Watchable, but nothing to write home about.

It was one of those depressing things where you watch it and then ask "what hell was that ??? "

Really enjoyed this. Had some surreal moments but was for the most part quite original. Excellent acting from the leads.

Will be interesting to see how McDonagh handles his first feature film but based on this, it looks promising: Article

After the kid's first few lines I thought his acting was poor alright, but he's great
for the rest of it. A bit surreal though, as somebody else said.

    Really enjoyable short, very funny.

play.com say it's being released on DVD on April 30th.
