I dont usually post here but i've a question about wireless broadband.

Is it possible that someone linking a cable directly to a wireless router will get a better network connection at the expene of others (using wireless cards).
Or can my connection speed be hindered by the amount said person (using a cable) is downloading?
as it is seriously effecting the amount of work i get done

If two people share a connection then their connection speed is going to suffer particularly if one of them is downloading big files.

If you're using ADSL, uploading files tends to impact the overall performance quite a bit. If you're buddy is doing some form of file sharing, this is a likely culprit. Additionally, some routers have a hard time dealing with P2P purely from a connection perspective.
